Washington DC – -(  On April 5th 2014, a South Austin, Chicago resident pulled his concealed carry handgun and fired at an armed man and his accomplice after coming under attack.

According to the Chicago Tribune, “the man was walking from his garage to the front of his home” at about 2:40 a.m. “when two males in hoodies appeared in a gangway between his home and the neighbor's home.” One of the two men drew a handgun and pointed it at the homeowner, who then pulled his own gun and opened fire.

The attackers fled.

Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Mike Sullivan said the homeowner will not face charges because the shooting was “in self-defense.” Sullivan also said the homeowner “had a valid firearm owner's identification card [and] a valid concealed carry permit.”

    1. He was on his own property but you can’t blame the PD, they have a job to do, hope they did it politely.

He needs to add a Crimson Trace laser to his firearm.

    2. I “love” how the gun owner has to prove everything to the “authorities” that he followed all their made up garbage while the criminals are still roaming the streets.

    3. why did the homeowner need to show his concealed carry permit and a firearms owner I.D card? He was in his own home?
