Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)-  During the June 4 2014 airing of CBS's Late Night, host David Letterman said private handgun ownership has to be dealt with, and he asked if everyone has to “have a family member who has been gunned down” before gun control is passed?

Letterman expressed his dismay that the crime of one man–Adam Lanza, Sandy Hook Elementary–did not change the laws for everyone. And he made the bogus claim that “a child or an underage boy or girl is shot and killed by a gun…daily.”

But as Breitbart News reported on January 31, more children are killed by fire and drowning that by firearms (so says the Centers for Disease Control). And Breitbart News has also reported on how the gun deaths of teens–considered “underage” if under the age of 18–can often be traced to gang activity.

Letterman did not mention fire, drowning or gangs.

However, he did mention Elliot Rodger, the “guy [who] was unbalanced and killed people then killed himself.” But he did not talk about the fact that Rodger killed half of his victims with a knife, rather than a gun. Nor did he mention Rodger's attempts to kill four others by running them down with his car.

Letterman then spoke of how much he enjoyed skeet shooting, and he talked about how much he likes to look at old western six-shooters. He said this proves he is “not anti-gun.”

He quickly added: “But when are we going to do something about his nonsense?” i.e., When are we going to pass more gun control?

    1. You should go back to forcing the women who work for you to sleep with you Dave. Nobody cares about your opinion.

    2. “And he made the bogus claim that “a child or an underage boy or girl is shot and killed by a gun…daily.”

There is nothing bogus about that claim, regardless of the cut-off age you use for being a child. Swimming pools and fire have nothing to do with the veracity of his statement about guns. You guys, on the other hand, are bogus.

    3. I guess Dave don’t need to own all his expensive sports cars that he keeps in a CT airport warehouse.

Those cars can go very fast and that is dangerous.

    4. As long as I have watched your show, I will now have to put you and the person taking your place on (don’t record)

    5. Not to date myself, too much…Letterman was at Ball State University when I attended that same school. He was a duffus then…and he still is…

    6. Let’s not forget that the late night host is a huge buddy of Emeror Barry and Queen Michele. He is merely propogatin the same line of BS that they are so fond of. Another kool-aid drinker.

    7. maybe we should demand the u.s government disarm and take away all its weapons. This will set the example for the rest of the world governments to follow. Then we will do it with the civilians. Gods little Idiots on the world stage. Enjoy the Show

    8. And thousands of kids are killed each day by legal abortion. Most kids killed with guns are accidents. No matter how you look at it, abortion is murder. Legal murder.

    9. Hey Letterman…hows about u go suck some eggs and such. I believe most normal folks have gotten to the point where we don’t want to hear or care what celebrities have to say.

    10. Perhaps we should consider legislation to ban cigarette lighters, swimming pools, bath tubs, and hot tubs…Maybe I shouln’t say this…some liberal might push for further legislation!

    11. Stick to being an “entertainer?” No doubt extremely successful but one has to ask the question, “WHY?” A bore that will be missed by several people when he is finally gone. And, obviously, another lying Brady Campaign fan/student.
