MINNETONKA, Minn.; –-(  The Nebraska Sandhill region can seem like its not of this world with its sand dunes, typical Nebraska wind and desolate, mixed-grass prairie. However, the remote area provides just the right ingredients to create massive muleys and that’s exactly where Melissa Bachman is heading this week on Winchester Deadly Passion, airing on Sportsman Channel Sunday July 20 at 2 p.m. ET and also at 5 p.m. ET on the Pursuit Channel.

Get a glimpse of this week’s action on the Deadly Passion YouTube page:

The extremely wet year for the region has produced more sunflowers than ever before, providing yet another challenge for Bachman and her guide, Scott Kuhn of Deer Meadow Outfitters. “At five to six feet tall, you can’t see the deer and it’s difficult to work your way into rifle range without spooking them,” said Kuhn. “Many thought the mule deer population is down, but they are just well hidden in the sunflowers.”

After seeing a few 200-plus bucks back at camp after opening day, Bachman and Kuhn are all the more determined to find their buck. Tune in to see if Bachman finds her deer, or if she heads home empty-handed.
