Little Rock, AR –-(Ammoland.com)- NASGW announced grants to four nonprofit organizations in support of industry efforts to advance youth sports, preservation and congressional support for the sporting goods industry.
The awards were part of the organization’s 41st Annual Meeting and Expo being held at the Marriott and Statehouse Convention Center.
Kent Williams, NASGW Chairman, and Pete Brownell, NASGW Vice Chair presented a $10,000 donation to the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance. Accepting on behalf of YSSA was Steve Miller, Executive Director.
A second grant of $25,000 was awarded to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation. Accepting on behalf of CSF was the organizations Development Director, David Kullivan.
The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) promotes, protects and advances the rights of hunters and anglers. CSF is the leader in providing access and a voice for sportsmen with elected officials, and sportsmen allied industry groups across the nation.
A new edition to the NASGW was a $20,000 donation to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Accepting on behalf of RMEF was its co-founder, Bob Munson.
Lastly, the Association also provided a grant of $20,000 to HAVA-the Honored American Veterans Afield. Accepting on behalf of the organization was Tom Taylor, one of the founders of the organization. Also present with Tom were actual recipients of the program and their sponsor.
A total of $200,000 has been donated to industry causes this year by NASGW on behalf of its member firms.
Russ Thurman, Publisher and Editor of Shooting Industry Magazine provided a check to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) that was raised during the 2014 Shooting Industry Masters and is specifically designated to support NSSF’s First Shots program. Accepting the check was Steve Sanetti, President and CEO of NSSF.
