GRANBURY, TX – -(Ammoland.com)- For the first time ever, Californians will be able to purchase the unique, Derringer-style Bond Arms pistols from a local dealer.

Re-tooled versions of the company’s popular USA Defender, Big Bear and Brown Bear models were designed specifically to be sold in California. The handguns are now shipping and will be available in stores, such as Turner’s Outdoorsman, in the coming weeks.

“California has a robust outdoor market and we’ve worked very hard to have our products available in this state,” says Bond Arms president Gordon Bond.

“We’ve been receiving requests from people in California for years, and now they’ll finally be able to experience a Bond firearm. Right now two models, the Big Bear and Brown Bear, are available, but we’re in the process of getting approval for our signature, interchangeable barrels as well.”

Both models have a .45 Colt cartridge and have an MSRP of $524, which includes a holster. The two guns are similar, but have their own distinct style, with the Brown Bear sporting an engraved California bear on the wood grip, and the Big Bear featuring a black, rubberized grip and galvanized gray barrel.

Bond Arms has become very well known in the outdoor industry for modifying the classic Derringer-style handguns with improved technology and craftsmanship.

About Bond Firearms:
Originally organized under the name Texas Armory, the company became incorporated as Bond Arms in 1995 with the idea that the Remington Model 95 over-under, single-action derringer could be converted from an Old West anachronism into a modern defensive handgun. The barrel and frame were redesigned to safely fire modern calibers. The beefed-up double barrels and frames are constructed completely from stainless steel, and shaped with modern manufacturing processes. This makes for a pistol that’s both strong and durable. I’m happy they’re offering a normal sized derringer with a .45 colt only barrel now, but I’m still waiting for a .45-70 barrel. Yes, I realize that’s ridiculous, but I want one! They used to have a .44 Mag barrel, but took it off the market because the recoil could physically harm the user. I’ve fired all kinds of hot loads out of these things, and I’ve had the gun actually rip the skin off my trigger finger. I’ve fired hot 296 grain hand-loaded .410 shells, and I’ve never had it fly out of my hand. All they need to… Read more »

I’m suprised too that a firearm maufacture would make a specific weapon for a sh*thole state like Kali. (the gov’nment, not most the people.I got some really good friends in SD) I mean hell this is the home state of the three b&tches,..feinstien,boxer,..pelosi ! It will take a revolution in Cali.,NY ,,etc to get the tyrants removed and tried, convicted, sentenced for treason ! (we have to extend these goddamn parasites their constitutional, due process although they could care less about yours)

That is a MIRACLE in it self that California is allowing anything from Bond Arms. My compliments to Bond Arms for listening to we poor Commiefornians and these idiotic anti gun laws. Love your derringers and look forward to owning one. In your article I just read you are in the works for adding the other caliber barrels. I would love to own one of these with the .45 long colt and be able to switch to other handgun calibers and hopefully the .410 shotgun round.
