Kingman, AZ -(Ammoland.com)- Hunters are reminded that the deadline to apply for hunt permit-tags issued through the drawing process for spring 2015 hunts for turkey, javelina, buffalo and bear is Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at 7 p.m. (MST).
Applications can be submitted through the online process here, or paper applications can be filled out and hand delivered to any of the seven Game and Fish offices in Phoenix, Pinetop, Flagstaff, Kingman, Yuma, Tucson or Mesa. A list of office addresses can be found at here.
If you typically mail in a paper application but haven’t yet done so at this point, it is recommended that you hand deliver your application in order to make sure it is received by the deadline. Postmarks don’t count.
Applicants are advised that Game and Fish offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13, for the Columbus Day holiday. Department offices will be open during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) on Tuesday, Oct. 14, and will accept dropped-off applications until the 7 p.m. deadline. Department front counter service, including license sales, will close at 5 p.m. on Oct. 14.
Copies of the 2015 Spring Turkey, Javelina, Buffalo and Bear Hunt Draw Information booklet, as well as paper application forms, can be obtained at hunting license dealers, Game and Fish offices, or downloaded from here.
A valid hunting license or combination hunting/fishing license is required in order to apply for the draw (the license must be valid as of the deadline day for the draw). With the new license structure that took effect this year, licenses are now valid for one year rather than just for the calendar year. For hunters who have already purchased a hunting license or combination hunting/fishing license this year, that license will likely satisfy the license requirement in order to apply for the 2015 spring draw. Check the dates of your current license to be sure.
Hunters should also keep in mind, however, that they need to have a valid license when they are in the field for their hunt. If your current license expires before your hunt, you’ll need to purchase a new license before you go on your hunt.
Hunters who haven’t yet purchased a license this year can either do so through the draw process when they are applying for the draw, or they can purchase it separately in advance either online, at a Game and Fish office, or at an authorized license dealer.
