USA –-( Waterfowlers in the Mississippi Flyway will find bonus pages in their Game & Fish/Sportsman magazines this fall.

The magazine has partnered with sister publication Wildfowl to pack the October, November and December-January issues of Game & Fish/Sportsman with extra waterfowl content designed to inform and entertain the most hardcore hunters in the heart of the United States.

“If you live for duck and goose hunting, you’ll really enjoy this combined coverage,” said Peter Gross, Publisher of Game & Fish/Sportsman magazines. “Hunters in this flyway take their sport seriously, and we’ve joined forces with Wildfowl to give those hunters special attention.”

On newsstands now, the October issue of these select magazines includes 16 extra pages of coverage thanks to the Wildfowl content, plus Game&Fish/Sportsman’s own coverage of where-to and how-to content. Wildfowl authors PJ Reilly and Frank Stavros, among others, contributed to the bonus section.

In the November issue, waterfowlers can look forward to a story about a special hunt in Arkansas, tips for maximizing the effectiveness of motion in a decoy spread, and reports of the best new gear.

The December-January section will focus on the fantastic snow goose migration, including micro-spreads, hunting tips and new waterfowling gear.

Game & Fish/Sportsman publishes 28 separate magazines 10 times a year. Each issue covers a particular state or region, and is specific to the hunting, fishing and outdoor pursuits that are unique to that area.

Wildfowl editor, Skip Knowles said his hardcore hunting staff was thrilled to join forces with Game & Fish/Sportsman magazines “to spread the waterfowling gospel to lucky folks living along the Mississippi Flyway.”

“This special section we created to add to Game & Fish/Sportsman will give readers a peek at why Wildfowl is the No. 1 magazine for duck and goose hunters,” said Knowles. “And it’s our hope that those who like what they see will consider subscribing to enjoy all year long.”

By inserting the Wildfowl bonus coverage into the 10-state region that makes up the Mississippi Flyway, Game & Fish/Sportsman can target this hunter-rich region from Minnesota to Louisiana, and provide extra content for those who live and hunt there. This strategic plan also allows reduced-rate opportunities for advertisers who want to target only this region.

And excitement is building this season in particular in the Mississippi Flyway. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service estimates a total of 49.2 million ducks in traditional flyway breeding areas, which is 8 percent higher than the 2013 count and 43 percent above the long-term average, according to Ducks Unlimited.
