Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)-  During an October 1 2014 appearance on CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper, gun control advocate Mark Kelly said such laws are “never going to stop” all gun violence.

Kelly was specifically responding to a question about “mass shootings” and “school shootings” like the 2012 attack on Sandy Hood Elementary when he said this.

In the CNN video of the segment, Tapper described the ongoing gun control push by Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly as an attempt to end the “seemingly endless stream of shootings in schools and campuses and public places across…America.” He pointed to Giffords/Kelly's new book, “Enough,”   in which Kelly says “he supports the Second Amendment, the right to keep and bear arms, but…proposes restrictions” which “should appeal to gun lovers.”

Tapper then welcomed Kelly to the show and asked: “When you hear about ‘school shootings' or other ‘mass shootings' in public, what law can actually stop them?”

Kelly responded: “You're never going to stop all of them.” He then he gave a pitch for the kind of expanded background checks and online firearm sales regulations that were contained in Senator Joe Manchin's (D-WV) failed gun control bill.

Ironically, Breitbart News previously reported that Manchin admitted gun control could not stop a “committed criminal” from getting a gun and said his own post-Sandy Hook gun control legislation would not have prevented the attack on Sandy Hook.

Violent offenders should not be glorified by the media by posting their faces over & over, even during their trials. Once dead or captured they should be faceless. Others with mental disorders, realizing they will never be in the lime-lite, other than if they are a violent person, gain more enthusiasm knowing their faces will be seen by millions. Why do we need to know what they look like?

There is no such thing as “Gun violence” period. All violence is by and of people. No gun EVER killed anyone or else the gun would be in prison.Liberals want to punish the innocent and the tool.Washington said that “Firearms are the teeth of freedom”This is the real reason liberals hate them so.

Mark Kelly, thank you for you Service in the U.S. Military.. Thank You for Exploring the Outer Limits of our Galaxy. Now, sit down, shut up and quit flapping your Hypocritical Mouth. So sorry about Gabby. Just think, it could have been a baseball bat to the head instead of a bullet.. I guess then we would have banned baseball…. Stop Mark….

Can’t understand the mentality other than he’s making money under the guise of gun control. Not getting anything off of Gabby so he’s doing something to keep busy.

Mr. Kelly: Imagine for a second that some mentally ill person had run up and stabbed your Wife in the temple with a Bic pen. STOP focusing on the implement used, and commit your efforts to fixing the system that didn’t find and treat the violent offender. The enemy is not “Gun Violence”. It is “Violence”.

Mexico has very strict gun laws. If they worked it would be a safe place to live. It is not. Gun violence is a complex problem and cant be fixed with simplistic “solutions” that do not work.

First let me remind you that Giffords was brain dead before she was shot. She was the congresswoman who grilled one of the Generals in charge of the Iraq war to be sure our military was waging a “green war”. She wanted to make sure our weapons were environmentally friendly and did not leave a big carbon footprint. Seriously she did asked him about it. When I was in the service we learned that in war our goal was to “kill people and break things” She was and still is as stupid as the other congress member who thought too… Read more »

Kelly Bleats: “You’re never going to stop all of them.” Okay, so which one of the last 10 “Gun Free Zone” massacres WOULD “‘reasonable’ gun control laws” have stopped? “Gun Free” Sandy Hook? “Gun Free” Columbine? “Gun Free” Virginia Tech? “Gun Free” Luby’s? “Gun Free” Fort Hood? Or his own wife’s “Gun Free” shooting? (Yes “Gun Free”, because no one at the Tucson shooting had a gun except the goblin.) Tell us Mr. Kelly: Where has your belief in “The more helpless you are when attacked with deadly intent, the SAFER you are!” actually saved lives? Now, how many lives… Read more »

Real simple, just do a study on New Jersey’s “universal background checks” to show how much crime was prevented because of them. It should be really easy since N.J. is the most crime free state in the nation. Excuse me now, while I go puke.
