SPOKANE, Wash. –-(Ammoland.com)- Some local gun owners are bracing for trouble after the passage of I-594. A few of them believe the government is out to take their guns and they are buying them like crazy.

Washington’s newest firearm law passed with a 60 percent approval from voters but it is little comfort to some gun owners.

“I feel like this is just continuously progressing in a way to limit the amount of firearms that can be purchased by legal citizens,” said gun owner Mark Jones.

Jones’ issue with the law is the requirement that background checks be performed for any transfer of a gun.

It is that frustration that has led to a firearm frenzy in Spokane. Several gun shops in the area have experienced a spike in gun sales. In fact, sales at one shop have surged 25 percent in the last few weeks. Normally at this time of year, gun shops see record sales for hunting gear.

“The attitude is, ‘I need to buy it before I can’t,'” said gun store owner Robin Ball.

Gun owners like Jones said they are less concerned about the actual law itself as opposed to the precedent that increased gun control brings. Jones said it is another burden that has been piled upon lawful gun owners.

“They’re just making it more difficult for everybody, as time goes on and it’s just frustrating more than anything,” said Jones.

I-594 takes effect December 4 2014.

What NEEDS TO OCCUR is showing all the dumb masses across the ntion just how f*cked up the FBI’s NICS background checks are and tha the FBI is complicit in utilizing Ex-Post Facto (AS IN HIGHLY UN-DAMN-CONSTITUTIONAL) methods in denying lawful citizens a clean background check. I just handed the FBI their asses through use of their own failed, “intelligence” when they tried to deny y reterieval of a firearm I had pawned. What was worse, when I went through my Senator’s offie for assistance in this matter, the dumb-assed Senator’s Aid didn’t even understand HER fundamental RIGHTS as per… Read more »

The pro-gun organizations are going to have to pro-active on this “background check” business or we will be picked off state by state. I practically lived on the various newspaper comments sections up there trying to get our point across, The people were being lied to and manipulated, i.e .There is no “loophole” (backed up with quotes from the 1968 GCA) and it is a registration scheme in disguise (typical liberal trick). They are going to pull the same crap in Nevada. Non-gun owners didn’t give a damn. All they could see how “reasonable” it was, ignoring the Form 4473… Read more »

What ever happened to “Shall not be infringed”?
Also, the vote of 59% approving this in a liberal state like Washington to boot clearly illustrates 90% of the people do not approve of this measure as claimed by the Bloomberg groups!
