Hunters and Trekkies can rejoice with OnBeep’s All-New Onyx Communications Device
San Fransisco, CA -(Ammoland.com)- OnBeep; a San Francisco based startup founded by Chef cofounder and former Amazon “Master of Disaster” Jessie Robins, is excited to unveil the world’s first instant hassle-free global group communication device aptly named the Onyx.
Established by CEO Jessie Robbins, Greg Albrecht and Roger Wood, OnBeep is changing the way in which people and groups are collaborating and communicating in real time. As a crew of artists, engineers, designers, and technologists who’ve organized to push group communication forward in such a unique and appealing way. The team at OnBeep has continuously created and shipped products for various companies including: Amazon, Amazon’s Lab126 (Kindle), Apple, BitTorrent, Cloudera, Chef, Ekso Bionics, Google, iRobot, Meyer Sound, Nextel, Reebok, and Splunk.
Everyone from hunters, range instructors, and even outdoor enthusiasts can now enjoy the comfort of hands-free, real-time communication without the hassle of a walkies that can only reach a few feet away. For the hunters that need complete silence while on the prowl, Onyx comes with a TRRS headphone jack that supports both stereo and headphones with built-in microphones.
Onyx allows users to communicate efficiently from anywhere they have a data connection whether their group members are across the street or around the world. Quite similar to Captain Kirk’s Comms Badge, the small clip-on device allows users to communicate with one another with the modest push of an oversized button. One of the Key features of Onyx is that it allows users to communicate with one another regardless of their OS or current mobile communications provider.
OnBeep’s mobile app connects to Onyx allowing users to locate others in their group, notifying them of their position and current status. The app is currently available for Android or iOS platforms and offers advanced management features. The potential for Onyx is staggering. While messages are instantly delivered through OnBeep’s servers in real-time, users can keep in touch with anyone in the world whether they’re using cellular data or a Wi-Fi hotspot.
