BISMARCK, N.D. –-( Delta Waterfowl is pleased to welcome Kyle Wintersteen to the organization’s communications team as managing editor.

A central Pennsylvania native, Wintersteen has been an outdoor writer for more than a decade. He was previously senior associate editor of American Hunter, where his interest in waterfowl earned him the unofficial title of “bird editor.” More recently, he has been a contributing editor and freelance writer for Delta Waterfowl, American Hunter, Wildfowl, Outdoor Life, Shooting Illustrated and other outdoor publications.

Wintersteen will produce stories, photos and content for Delta Waterfowl’s magazine, website and social media platforms. He will also assist in public relations.

“We’re excited to add Kyle to the Delta Waterfowl team,” said Paul Wait, editor/publisher of Delta Waterfowl magazine. “He’s a talented, experienced outdoor communications professional with a passion for ducks and duck hunting.”

At age 13, Wintersteen shot an American black duck from the bank of the Susquehanna River, thus fueling a life-long fascination with all-things waterfowl. A member of the State College, Pennsylvania, chapter of Delta Waterfowl, he’s eager to assist in the organization’s conservation and pro-hunting efforts.

“This is an opportunity to give back to waterfowl and the sport I so love,” Wintersteen said. “I’m thrilled to join the Delta Waterfowl staff.”

Wintersteen earned a degree in communications at Penn State University, where he was a member of the varsity track and field team. When he isn’t hunting ducks, he competes in English springer spaniel field trials. He has owned two field champions, including a National Open High Point Champion. He lives in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, with his wife, son and two springers.

Wintersteen can be reached by e-mail at [email protected]org.
