Brooklyn Center, MN-(Ammoland.com)- The USDA Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management presented the “Conservation Leadership Partner of the Year Award” to Wildlife Forever (WF) at the 100th Assembly of the North American Wildlife & Natural Resources Conference in Omaha, Nebraska recently.

The special recognition is in honor of contributions to wildlife, fish and native plant conservation.

“Wildlife Forever provides a vital role in working with the Forest Service and BLM, along with other Federal and State agencies, and other partners to implement successful conservation projects across the nation”, said Deputy Chief, Leslie A. C. Weldon of the Forest Service.

WF’s grass roots conservation projects have involved bringing fish and wildlife back to native habitats, protecting and improving native habitats, all while being a national leader in educating the country’s youth and the public sector.  Wildlife Forever projects foster stewardship through education of fish and wildlife management.
“We are humbled to be honored by America’s leading conservation agencies who value partnerships and public outreach education”, said Doug Grann, President and CEO of Wildlife Forever. “We know it is through partnerships of federal, state and local associations working together, we can
build stewardship of our fish and wildlife resources in future generations”.

Signature programs of WF include the national State-Fish Art Contest, by teaching youth conservation education through the arts (www.StateFishArt.org) and the Clean Drain Dry Initiative, America’s leading coalition to stop the spread of invasive species (www.CleanDrainDry.org).

According to Hal Hellett, Deputy Chief, Fish and Wildlife Conservation, BLM, “Invasive species outreach with Wildlife Forever are the best dollars we spend! The outcome actually halts the spread of invasives, as hunters and anglers and outdoor recreationists change their behavior to prevent the spread.”
