Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- On July 17 2015, country singers Tim McGraw and Billy Currington will headline a fundraiser for gun control group Sandy Hook Promise in Connecticut.

Sandy Hook Promise was founded after Adam Lanza stole various firearms then carried out a heinous attack on Sandy Hook Elementary.

NBC Connecticut quoted McGraw as saying:

Out of this tragedy a group was formed that made a promise to honor the lives lost and turn it into a moment of transformation. Sandy Hook Promise teaches that we can do something to protect our children from gun violence. I want to be a part of that promise – as a father and as a friend.

McGraw’s “A Concert For Sandy Hook Promise” will also feature country singers Billy Currington and Chase Bryant.

On December 15, Breitbart News reported that Sandy Hook Promise is a vehicle through which various relatives of Sandy Hook victims have joined to push gun control until it passes. Newtown father Mark Bearden joined the group pledging to “dedicate the rest of his life” to pursuing gun control.

It should be noted that there was 100 percent gun control at Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14, 2012. No guns were allowed, period. You can’t have more gun than that. Moreover, there were laws against stealing guns and possessing stolen guns as well. But none of these laws stopped or even dissuaded Adam Lanza.

Gun control renders law-abiding citizens defenseless, but it does nothing to stop criminals from carrying out their treachery.

Because of this, the money McGraw and Currington raise will ultimately succeed in making it harder for law-abiding citizens to acquire and carry the guns they need for self-defense.

Although I understand why some of you think ill about Faith Hill, I would suggest don’t be too quick to bash her. Just because she is married to Tim McGraw doesn’t necessarily make her automatically guilty of having the same views as Tim does on this. Unlike Tim, she hasn’t made any statements to the public on this one way or the other. I would wait and see if she shows up at this concert as the “surprise guest.” If she does, it would then be fair to call the kettle black, (or one is the same as Tim in… Read more »

Mr. McGraw, I Saw where you tried to explain away your statement, “I want to be part of this promise” – Sandy Hook Promise, dedicated to gun control. Regarding your explanation, know that one cannot un-ring a bell! Your decision to perform at this anti-gun group gathering tells me that you do in fact support some type of gun control that, as proven time and again, does nothing to prevent the criminals and mentally disturbed from illegally attaining firearms. It will, however make it hard and compromise all law abiding citizens ability to adequately provide for their self defense. What… Read more »

Don’t these idiots know that Guns don’t kill people; People kill people. Instead of banning guns make it to where the teachers and staff can conceal carry. I guarantee the crazies would not attack a school if they don’t know who is carrying and who isn’t. I won’t listen to any more of Tim McGraw’s music. Country music of today isn’t actually country music. It sounds more like the rock music from the 1970s. Whoever heard of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” being called country music. Really?!? And now these so called country singers are supporting gun bans?!? I agree… Read more »

They need to go for banning gun free zones like the schools. Gun free zones are a killers wet dream. That is why all mass killing are found in gun free zones where nobody can defend themselves. These brain dead duo want to create more of the proven areas where mass killing occur. Thus they want more mass killings.

Guns don’t kill people ! But Tim Mcgraw wants to help the BAD guys to keep on murdering honest & law biding
citizen, and Billy Currington is no better ! Take our guns and only the bad guys will have them, and believe me
they would love that. Because gun laws don’t matter to them. Gun control is not the answer .

Newsflash…criminals do not abide by the law, nor comply with gun free zone stickers. Almost every mass murder even except Gabby Gifgord, has taken place in a gun free zone. One responsibly armed CCW permit holder could have terminated the threat of a bad guy

In this corner we have TED NUGENT! Opposing him is TIM MCGRAW!

*SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAP*

Here we see Ted slapping the tar out of Tim. “ARE YOU STUPID? YOU JUST PISSED OFF YOUR ENTIRE LISTENING AUDIENCE?”

**Tim falls over, slapped unconscious***

Remember not to buy Faith Hill’s music. He’s married to her so supporting the one is supporting the other.

As it has so often been said: Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.
I particularly like the comment here by The Rifleman. Well said.
It seems like we keep getting more like these guys all the time. Apparently the whole country is trying to go hell in a market basket.

This is indeed very sad and disturbing news for sure! Most country music artists I know or have met would more than likely turn down a gig of this nature, as most of them are avid hunters, and come from a family of the same who are very proud of their heritage, and cherish the Second Amendment and the rights afforded to them under the Constitution, as well as the firearms they own. Apparently these guy are not one on the same, or moreover, was “made an offer they just couldn’t refuse” and hence, sold themselves out! They can not… Read more »

nothing new here………when these”celebrities” find themselves out of the spotlight and funds are running low, their publicists always find a vehicle for their ‘big return engagement’…….only the names change, to protect the innocent, as Sgt Joe Friday would say.

Well , I guess that’s what you do when you really lack talent. Did you ever notice when Tim “TRIES” to sing he musters up a look on his face that looks like a downs syndrome kid learning to whistle. I always thought Currington had a good voice but he is now on my “Crap List”

Country music, its usually very patriotic and very much about freedom, self responsibility and love of Country. Why the two of them are “pushing” a thing that controls citizens and does nothing about guns, as they probably know. The laws on the books now, about gun control, are as useful as “boob’s on a bull”. Gun control laws are useless and to have, “nationally known Idiots”, working for a gun control group just made me an ex-fan, and I’m sure that others will follow suite. It’s a shame that these two, in the public’s eye, are so into “getting paid”.… Read more »
