Wisconsin -(Ammoland.com)- The US dollar crashes and American society goes down with it. The nation is thrown into economic and political turmoil to the devastating point that the United Nations sends in troops to allegedly take control and restore order.
As the US dollar crashes so goes the Canadian dollar. Author James Wesley Rawles has another book out and I could not put it down.
A book I had to finish it at the point of ignoring the Colonel for two days while I read as fast as I could comprehend.
The book is “Liberators” and it is the latest in a series of books dealing with the issue of the US dollar crashing, losing all value and completely sinking the US economy and most of the rest of the world that uses the American dollar as a reserve currency. In this Rawles book, the Canadian dollar crashes and the UN sends in French and Belgian troops to restore order, only to have the French become cruel and deadly soldiers of occupation.
Most of the story takes place in British Columbia, Canada. I have family in the area that is described in the book so well by Mr. Rawles, and found myself being drawn to the scenario. Canadian farmers and ranchers become resistance fighters using hunting rifles and well cared for WWII military firearms to take the fight to invading European soldiers who have the latest weapons, armored vehicles and attack aircraft.
I called Gordon McGowan in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at his Mil Arm CO. LTD Gun Shop (www.milarm.com) to get his input on the types of ammo that a 2015 Canadian resistance forces might need to be hoarding.
Just as Mr. Rawles described in his latest book, McGowan advised that there would be a need for 30-06, 303 British, 300 win mag, 30-30, 5.56/223, 9mm and plenty of 12ga buckshot. Gorgon did note that currently there is little 22LR ammo in Canada to hoard.
There would appear to be a lot of old British Lee Enfield WWI and WWII rifles chambered in 303 British in use in Canada in both the “Liberators” book, and in the real-world. The problem is there is no more surplus 303 ammo out there, and none is currently manufactured in Canada. So, in future real-life and in the book, ammo is smuggled (or bought legally in peace time) up north from supporters in what remains of unoccupied USA.
Just as the Canadian freedom fighters expel the French and Belgians the Chinese land at west coast British Columbia ports and proceed to invade Canada.
I called my old roommate from US Army Infantry School who is one of the top Chinese analysts for the Army (read spy) and asked him, his opinion on the possibility of China invading Canada.
His response is China’s massive military buildup is not a Marine Corps (like so many wrongly think) constructed to invade Japan or other Pacific nations, but a modern Africa Corps like the Germans used to take North Africa in WWII.
China is building a land-based, heavy armor and artillery supported army to move into the Steppes of Russia. It will take very little to put that army on container ships and deliver it to the coast of Canada. So the answer is yes, China has the ability to invade Canada and if the US is down for the count at the time of the Great White North invasion there will be very little support from the American Department of Defense.
The other problem is Canada has its heavy armor on the east end of their nation with the intent to send it to Europe to save NATO in time of the next conflict. Canada is not anticipating that armor will be needed in Vancouver.
There used to be a NATO annual exercise called REFORGER (return of forces to Germany), where the US and Canada would send combat units to help defend Western Europe from the Russian bear. They were not expecting Chinese troops to show up at Whistler Ski lodge in British Columbia and ruin the downhill ski season for years to come.
Canada is this very large country but remember there are more people in Southern California than all of Canada.
Trying to defend that much real estate from an extremely large invading Chinese land army will be rather difficult, even if the US Army is fully operational to move north (with the invitation of the Canadians) and render aid to our most important ally and cousin.
Read the book, it is fiction but it is scary how accurate it is. Buy some fresh ammo and pick up a spare box of 303 British ammo, we may need it for a 21st century Lend-Lease deal for our Canadian sisters and brothers that could manifest itself very rapidly.
Sadly our politicians have allowed the US to fail many a friend and ally since WWII. We cannot fail Canada, it is not an option. Fail Canada and we will be failing our own national security and many will die on both sides of the longest undefended border in the world.
Putting politics and egos aside, we are Canada and they are us. They are the closest international family we will ever be privileged to have. I say again, we cannot fail Canada.
