    1. I just got my Meprolight TRU-DOT RDS in today. Put the batter in , and the red dot was so far out of alignment , you had to hold the sight @ a 40 degree angle to get the dot in the window. After looking @ the sight closer in the light, what do you know….. The retaining nuts show wear, and the paint on the nuts is worn off in some spots. The retaining nut studs also showed wear to the point of being stripped. This thing is USED!!! Is this what to expect from the Mako Group. I know mistakes happen, but how do you mix up a used return RMA sight with a new purchase?? A very Bad 1st impression. Should I have got a Eotech, or an Aimpoint . I guess that will depend on how the RMA process goes.
I will let you guys know how this turns out..

    2. I normally use Aimpoints (PRO and ML3) on builds, but decided to try one of these out during their last deep-discount black friday sale. I got #7XX of the first 1K that have the aluminum hood. At the range and in the field I have been quite impressed with fit and function. Easy to operate, very large viewing window, and none of the ‘starring’ effect that I get with EoTechs (I used to love EoTechs, but over the last few years changes in my aging eyes have made the reticles begin glare/star badly).

Only time will tell how it holds up in long-term use, but I could definitely see myself picking up another one next BF if it continues to run reliably over the course of this year.
