AR-15 Podcast 125 – Building an AR-15 From Scratch Part 3

DeKalb, Illinois –  Anthony Hardy and Reed Snyder bring you Episode 125 of the AR-15 Podcast. This week brings listeners the third installment of the redeaux series on building an AR-15 from scratch. The last two episodes focused on the lower receiver assembly. Episode 125 moves into the other half, the upper receiver assembly. First on the list is the receiver itself. Reed and Anthony discuss the receiver variants and the types out there and the respective cost ranges for each one.

Next, they move into barrels. There’s a lot to be said here and whole shows could be dedicated to barrels and barrel finishes. The guys go over the basics such as length, and twist before moving into the bolt carrier group. Here, they cover materials, and coatings. Which types hold up best under use? Which are better on a budget. Other topics, such as handguards, muzzle devices and charging handles are covered in detail. Also featured is the weekly giveaway as well as feedback from you, the listners.
