Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- On June 24 2015, Breitbart News reported that a Hollywood, Florida, Domino’s Pizza delivery driver shot and killed one of two alleged armed robbers who demanded his money.

Days later, the Outdoor Channel reported that the driver was placed on “paid leave” during “an investigation, and has been offered counseling.” Domino’s Pizza has also “reiterated their ‘no guns’ policy” in the wake of the incident.

Domino’s Pizza’s gun policy bars drivers from carrying guns for self-defense even if said drivers have a concealed carry permit to do so. On February 11, Breitbart News reported that at least 8 drivers have been shot and 3 killed under this policy, and that’s just since the beginning of 2012.

These attacks included the heinous February 8 assault that took place in broad daylight and resulted in the rape and robbery of a 22-year-old Domino’s Pizza delivery woman in Antioch, California. That driver arrived at the delivery address only to be met by an allegedly armed 17-year-old who forced her to drive to a second location, where the assault took place. SFGate.com reported the armed suspect then allegedly ordered the woman to drive back to the original address, where the suspect robbed her before fleeing the scene.

Domino’s Pizza spokesman Tim McIntyre responded to this horrific attack by saying company executives were “shocked and horrified” and “couldn’t conceive of something like this happening, especially on a Sunday morning.”

Executives may have been shocked and horrified, but they still weren’t jolted enough to change the policy that renders drivers defenseless as they deliver the pizzas that line executives’s pockets with money.

The thought of the pizza delivery person coming to my door, waving a gun and pointing it at me scares me. That person may have had a fight with their girlfriend or boyfriend and might be on the edge and might just, you know, decide to pop off a few rounds and kill some people and this is unacceptable. No one has any ligitemate use for a gun! This is crazy! We have the police, we have the FBI, Homeland Security, ect, so why do these crazies think that they need guns?

What not sensible failed to mention was that the Domino driver walked in on not sensible raping a child….pedophiles are indeed logically afraid of being shot by their intended victims family, or anyone seing not sensible commit the rape of a child….

@Sensible… Yes, we have police, etc., but as this story shows (and you should have picked up on) is that the police not only can’t protect everyone, but have no legal duty to do so. I can only assume that you’ve not yet been the victim of a violent crime. If you ever are, try telling the perp to please wait while you call 911. How long will the response time be? Here in Phoenix, Priority One calls average 7-8 minutes. Try looking at a clock for 7 minutes, and imagine the damage you can take in that time. If,… Read more »

Sensible is a moron. Do you really believe what you posted? When have you ever heard of that happening?
Feel free to post a sign outside your home declaring a “Gun Free Zone” and see how that works out for you.

Sensible, I don’t know if this has occurred to you or not but the nationwide average of CHL holders is about 10-12% depending g on where you live. That means that unless you live in one of the “nazi” states like New Jersey, California, New York, etc., one of every 10 people you run into on the street is carrying a concealed firearm on a daily basis and you have no idea it’s even there. Responsible gun owners don’t wave guns around or pop off a few rounds because they’re having a bad day, unless it’s at the range to… Read more »

Interesting. They don’t have the balls to fire him & of course they are sticking to their no gun policy. They would make good politicians because they lack any backbone & of course won’t do the right thing which is allowing drivers to carry guns. Such a decision would cause them to piss in their pants because it would take some gumption to allow drivers to protect themselves. Reminds us on how Obama does his job.

In Alaska if the driver is using his own vehicle the company has no legal way of stopping a driver from keeping a firearm in his vehicle. As long as he parks in a parking lot open to the public.

“Paid leave” on a job that depends on tips? That doesn’t seem very generous.
