Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Hartland, Minnesota, firefighter Brian Nielsen has been suspended after flying a Confederate flag during an area Fourth of July parade.

Nielson hung the Confederate flag beside an American flag on the back of a fire truck. He explained that he did it as a way of “demonstrating against political correctness.”

According to CBS Minnesota, Nielson found himself in hot water after “hundreds of people saw an image [of the flag] on social media” and “some parade watchers were offended.” He took “full responsibility” for flying the flag and said, “[I] probably shouldn’t have done it with our fire truck.”

However, he also explained his conviction that politicians pushing for the flag’s banishment are not going to stop unless people stand up to them. “Where are they going to stop?,” he asked. “We’ve got to change everything, we’ve got to change history.”

Ironcially, Nielson does not even own a Confederate flag, He reached out to a friend and borrowed the one he used for Friday’s parade.

Tex: For a ‘proud Texan’ who lives in the South you sure have a poor grasp of grammar and punctuation. Perhaps you should attend a remedial reading/writing class before you spout away. You really present yourself as a stereotypical redneck boob……..

Yeah, well you’re entitled to your opinion. You are right, alot of proud Southerners died fighting the enemy during ‘the war between the states’ because of Northern aggression agaisn’t the South. State rights then, state right now ! The yankees thought this war would be a walk through the park, they found out different. Southern states have every right to fly the Confederate Battle Flag, statues of Southern heros, showcase our proud Southern history,….etc.! Whats next are the yankee liberals and negroes going to try and have the MS flag changed ? Good luck with that, MS dont mollycoddle negroes and yankees. In the South we… Read more »

The flag is of a vanquished enemy of the United States Of America. I support people’s free speech rights to fly it on their property, but not on public property. A lot of people died to defeat that enemy and it insults their sacrifice.

I’ve noticed that alot of Confederate Batlle Flags on Ammoland are missing the 13’th center star. (the center star on that great flag of the Confederacy is the exclusive ‘Texas Star’ on that flag) That is a fact that has been knowed since Lee screwed up and signed that damn armistice with the U.S. on 9 April ’65 ! Lee done that on his own,he was not ordered to do it. (Lincoln was murdered after being shot in the head by a coward and total loser 5 days later) As far as that fireman he should had checked with his… Read more »
