Democrats Are Tyrants Who Prefer Their Subjects Unarmed

Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- On August 20 2015, Gun Owners of America executive director Larry Pratt described the Democratic Party on the federal level as “increasingly” tyrannical and focused on passing laws to take guns away from law-abiding Americans.

Pratt said, “The Democrat Party has increasingly become a party of tyranny. And you can’t be a good tyrant if there are a whole bunch of schlubs running around with guns.”

And Pratt is not wrong. The link between federal-level Democrats and a relentless push for gun control is undeniable. Obama craves it, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) continually push it, and Representatives like Elizabeth Etsy (D-CT-5th) and Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) (D-CA-5th) eagerly promote it.

Just since the heinous December 2012 attack at Sandy Hook Elementary, Democrats have pushed “high capacity” magazine bans, “assault weapon” bans—that included shotguns and certain other guns besides rifles—AR-15 ammo bans, expanded background checks, new online ammo sales regulations, new online gun sales regulations, new gun show regulations, new gun trafficking laws, gun control laws under the auspices of domestic violence prevention, and on and on.

But this push has been consuming the Democratic Party for longer than the last three years. For example, on September 13, 2014, the New York Times admitted that Democrats literally made up the term “assault weapons” in order to create an entire class of guns that they could then try to ban.

Moreover, the Times pointed out that “assault weapons” are not even the guns criminals predominantly use. Rather, they are the guns Democrats loathe.

It was on March 4 2015 of this year that Rep. Mike Thompson stood with Gabby Giffords to renew the push for expanded background checks. And just two days after that, Obama told Benedict College that “there are neighborhoods where it is easier for you to buy a handgun… than it is for you to buy a fresh vegetable.” And in July, Senators Murphy and Blumenthal urged Obama to go around Congress and change background checks via executive powers.

And we can’t leave out April 2014, when 44 Democrat Senators voted to subjugate the Second Amendment to the UN’s Arms Trade Treaty.

This is the Democratic Party of the 21st century, pushing gun control for law-abiding citizens under the guise of stopping criminals from acting out their criminality.

Left wing socialist democrats are in favor of everything which is immoral, disgusting or tyrannical. They want you and your family defenseless because their god is government, and they will use the force of government to make you act as they desire. Killing babies and selling their parts? Yes. Forcing filmmakers to film gay porn films? Yes. Forcing us to fund all sorts of ridiculous research? Yes. Breaking crosses off churches and mocking traditional Judeo-Christian values? Yes. Allowing government employees to unionize against the interests of the public? Yes. Spitting on the Constitution? Yes. Civil War 2.0 will soon be… Read more »

Many of the readers here will be amazed at this, but…. Not all Repubs are gun supporters. Not all Dems are anti gun. Indeed not all gun owners support the access to all forms of armament. We as responsible gun owners need to find some common ground with like minded individuals regardless of political affiliation. If we continue to fight every person who disagrees with the total tenement of free and open gun ownership and use, we will lose. If you are brimming with hate and fear of me for writing this, you are part of the problem. The yield… Read more »

JohnC, I agree with you that not all Democrats are anti gun and not all Republicans are gun supporters. Look at Chris Christie. However, I “strenuously” (shameless reference to A Few Good Men) disagree with you that we should “find some common ground” . I take that as compromise. As a gun rights supporter, and for me that means support of the entire Constitution and the rights assured by it, there is no compromise on my rights. Allowing “compromise” is a slippery slope that leads to total removal of our rights. If we allow any infringement on our 2nd Amendment… Read more »

When the founding fathers spoke of militias they had muskets, the people had muskets. Now you have an AK and the government has drones, stealth bomber, etc. It’s not the same. Take a deep breath, relax and go to the range and have fun. And remember, we’re all in this together or we aren’t a “United” States of America.

One of the greatest evils are those who take an oath to govern by “delegated powers” but use it to take from others what they keep for themselves. “A Government that does not trust its law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, is itself, unworthy of trust.” –James Madison, chief wordsmith of the Constitution “Any government that would attempt to disarm its people is despotic; and any people that would submit to it deserve to be slaves.”– Stephen F. Austin, 1835 “The historical reality of the Second Amendments protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not… Read more »

YOU ARE MISTAKEN. The British had muskets. AMERICANS HAD RIFLES, THE EQUIVILENT OF TODAYS AK47.
Facts are stubborn things to deal with. As far as “all in it together, there were traitors among the populace even then. Many remained loyal to the Crown and fought or spied for the British.

NO!!! It is but another, one small incremental step on the road to registration and ultimately confiscation. NEVER, never, never.

Unfortunately this mentality of control and our elected officials thinking of people as their subjects is not solely limited to the democrats. The democrats are the worst offenders, but not the only ones. It is time to clean house and start electing new representatives that listen to the people that elected them. EVERY elected position in government should be subject to a recall. If they are not doing the job that they were elected to do, they are out the door. If any one of us didn’t do the job we were hired to do, we would be fired. Elected… Read more »

No doubt, expanded background checks would include criminal sales not currently abiding by existing law.

Janek: Anchor babies have nothing to do with an Executive Order of the President. Check out the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

Clark Kent please tell me exactly where in the 14th amendment is says children of
parents who ILLEGALLY entered our borders and gave birth give that child citizenship?
the 14 is for those children of slaves FORCED to be here and to give all people 100% citizenship
instead of the 3/5 given by slave owning demoncrats 150 years ago.

Jan: You are right in referring him to the 14th Amendment. There is a clause in there that states; There is no such term as “anchor babies”. You need to read the Author of the 14th Amendment. It EXCLUDES children which are born to FOREIGN NATIONALS. That Child born of FOREIGN NATIONALS is a citizen of THAT foreign Nation, NOT America.

My understanding is that the 14th amendment was passed with the pretense that the children of freed black slaves would receive US citizenship…at the time of it’s authoring there was no influx of illegals crossing our borders for the sole purpose of having children thus enableing them for citizenship…Our forefather errored by not forseeing into the future of this country and how demographics would play an important part our politics and laws since written.

Hey Clark Bar, you should check the Mexican Constitution. All children born anywhere of a Mexican mother are Mexican citizens at birth. As for th 14th amendment, you should read it, and what it’s authors wrote and meant a little more carefully.

Kent – Obama’s 1st Executive Order on Immigration (Whether upheld or not) shields up to 5 million illegal aliens from deportation. Those 5 million illegals are in country and having ‘anchor babies’. The 14th Amendment has nothing to do with what is happening, though pro-immigration groups would like to believe the 14th Amendment provides legal citizenship for those children born here.

But on the bright side, we win back the Democrats one at a time, when they realize that if they had a gun when the criminals broke into their house they could of defended themselves. The sad part being they realize this as they are tied to a chair and are watching their wife get ganged raped by repeat offenders.

– By the time that happens all of the ‘Anchor Babies’ Obama sponsored via ‘Executive Order’ will be ‘grown up’ and voting Democrat.

Its worse than that. Everytime a kid gets expelled for pointing his finger like a gun, having a pop tart or drawing a picture, the government is conditioning them. Their little brains are learning that all guns are bad, and that people who own them are bad. Two generations of this, and the little kids will be in their 20’s and 30’s and vote too just ban the 2nd amendment out right. It was Nikita Kruchev who said in the 1950’s at the UN, ” we will destroy America through it’s education and bring communism to the world” ( how… Read more »
