Washington, DC -(AmmoLand.com)- The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) recently announced the formation of an Advisory Council to support and guide the Michigan Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus.

The Michigan Sportsmen’s Caucus Advisory Council (Advisory Council) is composed of leaders from the state’s conservation community, including those representing the leading hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping organizations from around the state.

The Advisory Council will serve the Caucus as a readily available source of expert information on sportsmen’s issues. It will also work with the Caucus in the planning and execution of events and activities, such as breakfast briefings, shootouts and annual banquets. The Advisory Council brings together grassroots sportsmen’s organizations under one umbrella to work directly with legislators.

“The Michigan Sportsmen’s Caucus Advisory Council is incredibly important to getting legislators, hunters, anglers, and trappers on the same page. We appreciate the involvement of everyone at the table, especially the legislators taking the time to listen to their constituents who care deeply about our outdoor heritage,” said Dan Eichinger, Council Chair and Executive Director of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs.

Newly elected Vice-Chairman and Executive Director of the Michigan Steelhead and Salmon Fishermen’s Association Dennis Eade added, “I look forward to meeting regularly with the Co-Chairs of the Caucus on legislative matters that enhance our environmental stewardship, preserve our natural resources and promote our hunting and fishing heritage.

The Michigan Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus currently boasts over 80 members, representing districts from around the state, from both political parties and both chambers. Michigan’s Sportsmen’s Caucus is a member of the National Assembly Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC), a program under the CSF banner that currently consists of 47 individual state caucuses with a membership base of over 2,000 state legislators.
