USA –-( Somewhere, everyday in the USA, 2100+ people use a gun for self defense, to stop a crime or save the lives of themselves or their family.

“We believe that the American public deserve to understand that on the average, guns save 2,191 lives and are used to thwart crimes every day,” says Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation

Most times you won’t see these tales on the news as it does not fit the main stream media’s story line of “Guns and Gun Owners are Bad“.

This is just one of those stories;

A beautiful night with a blue moon brought two adults to a St. Paul river bluff to enjoy the weather, but police said they were soon met with a random act of violence that ended with a 16-year-old dead.

Four juvenile males approached the adults Friday night and one, wearing a mask and gloves, pulled a handgun and tried to rob the adults, police said.

One of the victims has a permit to carry a handgun, pulled his own weapon and shot the suspect, they told police.

The teenage suspect from West St. Paul died at the scene near a World War I monument at Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard.

The suspects approached the two adults, and that’s when the attempted robbery and shooting occurred, Paulos said. The shooter “rendered first aid … tried to give immediate help,” the police spokesman said. “Called the police as he’s supposed to.” Paramedics declared Broadbent dead.

Broadbent and the man who shot him didn’t know each other, Paulos said, calling the attempted robbery “a random act of violence.”

Russell: You and Janek can be cellmates in prison. Shooting someone fleeing from you after the threat is over is not legally justified.

And another one bites the dust.

Bob Shell

If he is old enough to carry a gun & rob people then he is old enough to get shot

I bet a lot of people are wondering a) how did a 16-year old kid pass the background check with priors; b) why no concern from family friend “Auntie” about the kid being in the wrong place for the wrong reason instead of why being shot more than once. Everyone can be assured there will be no future criminal activity by this perp.

Problem resolved, ,…….. and the other three just ran around in circles ’til the Police arrived ?.. or did they blend back into the “Hood”. WAIT A SECOND,… three got away ?… some more moving target practice is in order !

Janek: Not unless you want to go to prison for a long, long time. Nothing like screwing up a justifiable shooting by some stunt that makes you look like a sadist.

Aren’t you supposed to stand on the perpetrator’s chest, after you shot him, until the Police arrive?

Everybody reads these forums, Conservatives, Liberals, pro-gun AND anti-gun. Making a stupid statement like that does absolutely nothing to further our position.

A dead perp is a good perp. Armed robbery isn’t a “first time criminal’s” type of crime either, so who knows what other crimes he committed before this. I’m glad he was stopped.
