Old Saybrook, CT -(AmmoLand.com)- Traditions Performance Firearms proudly announces that Field & Stream’s September issue selected the Pursuit G4 Ultralight for the Best of the Best Award.

“Our staff spent a significant part of this past year finding and testing equipment that will enhance our readers’ time in the woods. The winning gear not only weathered our rigorous testing, but also performed above and beyond the rest, exhibiting absolute excellence in their category. The Best of the Best Award is the highest honor Field & Stream bestows on gear and the winning products are the best introductions of the year; worth your time, worth your money,” states Slaton White, Field & Stream Deputy Editor.

“The readers of Field & Stream rely on their staffs expertise to test and evaluate new products on the market. I am honored they selected the Pursuit G4 Ultralight as this years’ Best of the Best in the muzzleloading category. Each year we set out to produce high quality firearms with features that hunters appreciate,” comments Tom Hall, Traditions President.

The new and improved Pursuit G4 Ultralight features a wider forend that provides a better grip and hand position when shouldering the rifle. In addition, the receiver is slimmer and conceals the hinge pin, which allows for a more streamlined look. The Pursuit G4 Ultralight rifle is outfitted with a Chromoly barrel, providing immense strength and unprecedented accuracy in a lightweight configuration.

The barrel and receiver is coated with a Premium Cerakote Finish that is 50 times more corrosion-resistant than stainless steel in protecting against black powder, cleaning chemicals, and any weather conditions. The Accelerator Breech Plug aids in the simple maintenance of the gun and also allows the shooter to use both loose or pelletized powders.

Traditions has put safety first by equipping this rifle with a Dual Safety System, which combines an internal hammer block safety and trigger block safety, making it one of the safest guns on the market.

    1. I recently purchased a traditions pursuit G4 ultralight in black synthetic with cerokote barrel. My original plan was to buy a CVA optima v2 and retire my old bpi sidecock rifle. I saw the g4 and immediately fell in love with the design and features, I was sad that it didn’t come equipped with a scope since I’m now seeing the CVA optima v2’s camo, stainless, thumbhole stock, and scope for $250.00 at Walmart I paid $294.00 for the G4 and it was plain Jane no scope. I would love for someone from traditions to email me and explain why there wasn’t a scope equipped with the gun? I am 100% not complaining I am in love with the rifle but am from the mountains of southwest Virginia and my hourly construction rate unfortunately puts me on a budget and I won’t be able to afford optics for it until maybe next year. What I’m trying to say is would someone please help me feel better about spending more for this rifle when I could have spent less and got the whole 9 yards in the CVA. Yours truly Josh
