Utah -(Ammoland.com)- If you’re a woman 16 years of age or older — and you want to learn more about firearms — the Division of Wildlife Resources has a deal for you.
Have fun and learn to shoot at the upcoming Gals ‘n’ Guns Clinic in Green River.
The agency’s Wildlife Recreation program is sponsoring a firearm safety clinic and shooting opportunity on Nov. 21, 2015. The class starts at 9 a.m. at the Green River City Hall, 50 E. 2nd North St.
After the class, you can practice what you’ve learned at the Green River Shooting Sports Park. The park is on the old frontage road east of town. A variety of pistols, shotguns and rifles will be available to shoot.
The “Gals ‘n’ Guns” clinic and shooting opportunity — and lunch — are free.
Learn, then shoot
Walt Maldonado, regional wildlife recreation specialist for the DWR, says you’ll learn about a variety of firearms, and how they work, at the Saturday morning clinic. Most of the instruction will be provided by women.
“Following the instruction,” Maldonado says, “you’ll have a chance to get some hands-on practice using safe, unloaded firearms. Then, after lunch, we’ll meet at the shooting range so you can practice the skills you’ve learned.”
The clinic and shoot are entirely free. A sandwich lunch will be provided. Pre-registration is required, though, to determine how much food and ammunition is needed.
