A recipient of the 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, MidwayUSA is one of only seven organizations to earn the award twice since the first award cycle in 1988. Past award recipients are eligible to apply for the award each five full years after receipt.

“This year’s Baldrige Award honorees have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving their performance in all facets of their organizations, and they have served as role models for others to follow,” said Secretary Pritzker. “As America’s Innovation Agency, the Commerce Department is honored to support innovators and job creators who power our economy and help keep America open for business.”

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is presented annually by the President of the United States to manufacturing, service, small business, health care, education and nonprofit organizations that apply and are judged to be outstanding in the seven Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. Over the last 28 years, the National Institute of Standards and Technology has selected a total of 102 organizations to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

“At MidwayUSA, we relentlessly pursue continuous improvement and performance excellence,” said Matt Fleming, President of MidwayUSA. “We are honored and thrilled to accept this award from the National Institute of Standards and Technology. MidwayUSA recognizes the application process as a Leadership and Development opportunity for Employees, and for the MidwayUSA organization as a whole. In alignment with their continued pursuit of performance excellence, MidwayUSA plans to apply for the award again in 2021 in accordance with the Baldrige National Quality Award eligibility cycle.

The award couldn’t have gone to a better company. My first order from them was from a print ad in Shotgun News when I was 15 years old in 1987. I rode my bike to the grocery store to get a money order that was sent to them in the mail. Not long after I was the proud new owner of a Lyman No. 55 powder measure. 28 years later I’m still ordering from them regularly and haven’t had a problem with a single order in all those years.
