Chatsworth, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- On Friday night, December 11, at 10:13pm, Victor D. Quilici filed his report on ISRA legal activities for Saturday’s Board of Directors meeting.
A few minutes later Vic collapsed and passed away after suffering a massive heart attack. Victor D. Quilici was a true and dedicated warrior for the ISRA and Second Amendment. Vic was the Chairman for the ISRA Legal Assistance Committee (LAC) and supervised our Attorney Referral System (ARS).
He was instrumental in the McDonald Case and many others. He had both kindness and wisdom. Every law abiding gun owner, not only in Illinois, but the United States, will never know about all of the great work he did. We will miss him.
On December 7, 2015, the Huffington Post carried an article by Amitai Etzioni which demanded total firearm confiscation for all Americans. This is tantamount to calling for civil war. Of course, if any pro-gun person or group did this, the progressives would be screaming from the rooftops for our hide. Etzioni is a left wing immigrant who came here because of the freedoms the United States provides, but now he wants to destroy the one he doesn’t agree with. Mr. Etzioni, if you don’t like it here there are airplanes and boats leaving every day to take you back to wherever it is you came from. When you get back to wherever you came from, start shooting off your big fat mouth and see how that works for you.
Congressman Tom McClintock of California points out that the most effective defense against attacks is an armed American. This has been true throughout our history. British General “Gentleman Johnny” Burgoyne noted a new type of soldier lined up along his march south. He was referring to American Militia picking off his soldiers. In World War II Yamamoto told his Japanese counterparts that there were “guns behind every blade of grass.” Shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union one of our members, who owns a hunting preserve, was talking to a former Soviet KGB (Committee for State Security A.K.A. secret police, spies, assassins, etc.) who had come to hunt pheasants. He told him that the invasion of the United States was never a consideration, because of American gun owners. They too understood that there was a gun behind every blade of grass. Representative McClintock is right.
Recently some readers of the Thursday Bulletin (TB) have complained about or stopped reading the TB because they wanted to concentrate on what is going on in Illinois and less about the national or international scene. There are a few reasons why I talk about the national and international situations. First, particularly this time of year, not much is going on in Illinois. Second, the things that happen in other places are harbingers of things to come here in Illinois; we just had good examples of that. A couple of weeks ago, the State of Connecticut proposed an Executive Action that would put gun owners in that state on the “no fly” list. A few days later HB4359 popped up in Illinois proposing the same thing. In Seattle, Washington, an ammo tax was passed and shortly thereafter, Cook County passed a mirror image of the Seattle tax. The point here is that the anti-gun groups have an excellent network and Illinois is a focal point for them. The international scene is similar.
The United Nations has an anti-gun component in every program they have. It doesn’t matter whether it is UNICEF or WHO or WHATEVER, that component is buried in there somewhere. George Soros funds all kinds of studies in other countries to prove his point. Unchallenged, these “studies” come back to haunt us here in the United States and eventually Illinois. The difference is that there is no NRA or ISRA there to tell the truth about what is going on. I am trying to tell everyone that we are facing large, organized and well financed groups. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Not wanting to hear it and sticking your head in the sand will not solve the problem.
We are ushering 2015 through history’s door but we have to ponder what 2016 will bring. I must tell you I see nothing but struggle for 2016. We have to be ready in every way for 2016. All of us will have to do our part if we are to keep the Second Amendment safe.
