Albany, NY -(AmmoLand.com)- The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association issued this statement in response to remarks made on December 27th by Governor Cuomo’s spokeswoman Dani Lever to the Staten Island Advance that “The SAFE Act is making New York safer and saving lives.”

“The New York City Police Department does not agree with Ms. Lever, “ NYSRPA President Tom King said. “On December 21st Newsday reported that New York City’s homicide rate is up about 5% over last year. A week before that on December 13th the Daily News reported that half of the shootings within the City are gang related, mostly over petty disputes. It does not appear that either the NYPD or Crips, Bloods and Latin Kings have gotten the memo from the Governor Cuomo that New York is safer because of his gun control law.”

About NYSRPA:

The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state’s largest and oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports. Our membership consists of individuals and clubs throughout the state. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and the official NRA-affiliated State Association in New York.

Cuomo and the rest of his liberal posse caused me to get the hell of dodge and move to fl. No income tax.house taxes went from 3500 to 675. Owned my first pistol within two weeks.had my permit to carry with in 2months and do so on a daily basis. Take your tax dollars away from them and leave! Let the liberals drown in their own swill.

Cuomo surely does not care. He will be serving time for corruption as the stuff hits the fan.

As a former Central NYer,I am appalled that these guns law have gotten out of hand,I mean for gods sake,You have to go to a FFL to pick up your ammo if ordered online(REALLY)People if you want to no longer be sheep and stand up for your rights,Get your walking shoes on and go get enough signatures to get these people out of office, they did it in Colorado and you can do it in NY.

The only thing safe about this act it the idiot who wrote it and got it passed. He don’t care because he can stand behind the guns of his body guards. It don’t matter to him about the public being safe or not. He is a spoiled rich government official and don’t care about the people he is supposed to work for.

The SAFE Act may make New York look “safer” if police chiefs manipulate reports. But as the UK is discovering, the truth eventually spills out for all to see. Cuomo doesn’t care because he hopes to be long gone by that time, perhaps veep or justice.

It’s going to be incredibly gratifying when Cuomo is indicted.
