USA –  -(Ammoland.com)- Somewhere, everyday in the USA, 2100+ people use a gun for self defense, to stop a crime or save the lives of themselves or their family.

“We believe that the American public deserve to understand that on the average, guns save 2,191 lives and are used to thwart crimes every day,” says Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation

Most times you won’t see these tales on the news as it does not fit the main stream media’s story line of “Guns and Gun Owners are Bad“.

This is just one of those stories;

A husband and wife were at home in Pittsburgh, Pa. when the wife heard the screams of a 14-year-old neighbor. The boy was calling for help, as his 7-year-old brother was under attack by a pit bull. The wife alerted her husband, who retrieved a gun and went to the site of the attack.

When he arrived, the dog was on top of the boy, prompting the husband to shoot the dog in the rear in order to halt the attack and not harm the child. The first shot got the dog off the boy, but as the dog continued to act violently, the husband was forced to fatally shoot the animal. The husband then carried the boy, who suffered facial lacerations, out of the house. (KDKA, Pittsburgh, Pa. 01/10/16)

It’s way past time to exterminate this breed as they serve no purpose other than to kill primarily children.

Only a total sociopath would ever own one of these things.

The fact is that “Pit Bulls” or American Bull Terriers, top the list of dog breeds that are responsible for injury or death to humans. A study by DogsBite.org showed that pit bulls were responsible for 59% of dog attacks resulting in death, out of the 9 most dangerous breeds. Second were Rottweilers at 14%. Pit bulls were also responsible for 81% of the “Off Property” attacks that resulted in death. Here is the link: http://www.dogsbite.org/dog-bite-statistics.php It seems every time I read or hear of a pit bull attack against a child or woman (many times a child of the… Read more »

Got to wonder what happened to cause the dog to attack. I own a pit, and I can take meat out of his mouth without his getting hostile.
Good that the neighbor had the means to end the attack.
