West Virginia Citizens Defense League January 13, 2016 Update
West Virginia – The West Virginia Session Starts Today
And the West Virginia Citizens Defense League (WVCDL) is ready. We've been in discussion with legislators in advance of the session about 3-22 (permitless) carry.
We've been running targeted ads on Facebook and statewide radio. addressing the five lies about 3-22 carry. You can arm yourself for the discussions with friends, family, and coworkers by reading about the five lies here.
We are optimistic that it will move early enough to have time for a veto override. But with the nature of our legislature, we cannot be apathetic.
You never know what will happen in session, and the biased media is rarely on our side, so stay tuned for action alerts.
Bloomberg on Offense
Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been running targeted ads, including billboards attacking Senate President Bill Cole for supporting 3-22 Carry. New York money is here, and once again meddling in the affairs of West Virginians. I don't know about you, but I've had just about enough with New York influence in our state.
For now, we are not asking you to make calls to Senator Cole's office. The Senator knows who, and how many you are, and your position on 3-22 carry. At present, calls will only burden his staff. The WVCDL is careful to only fire up the incredible activism machine (you) when it's absolutely necessary. At the moment, it is not necessary. This is subject to change.
Stay tuned to our alerts and media in general. This promises to be a heck of a session. Make your plans for lobby day now. Because you're not going to want to miss this one.
WVCDL in the News
Myself and WVCDL Vice President and Lobbyist, Art Thomm have been interviewed in multiple media outlets over the past month or so. Media has been spinning up about 3-22 carry for quite some time, as well as asking for commentary regarding Obama's recent executive orders and recent mass shooting events.
