Saint Paul, MN -(AmmoLand.com)- Late last year, Governor Dayton argued that a secret government list should be used to stop YOU from exercising your Second Amendment Rights here in Minnesota.

We thought that we had killed this effort in December after supporters like you generated hundreds of phone calls and emails to the Governor’s office.

Unfortunately, we were wrong.

Yesterday, anti-gun DFL Representative Phyllis Kahn stated on KTLK’s morning show “Up and at ‘Em” that she would introduce a bill in the upcoming legislative session to ban individuals on the secret FBI “Terrorist Watch List” from purchasing firearms in Minnesota.

On the surface, this seems an admirable goal.. until you realize that there’s over a million people on the watch list, and that the list is full of errors, omissions, and mistakes. Even the American Civil Liberties Union believes that the list is out of control.

The list is secret. How one ends up on the list is secret, how one gets removed from the list is secret, the contents of the list are secret. And, in the end, a government official has complete discretion whether or not to add you to the list.

Everything about the list is secret.

The complete lack of due process illustrates why this list cannot be used as a screening factor to prohibit law-abiding Minnesotans from exercising their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Can you take a few minutes RIGHT NOW and take the following actions?

  1. Add your name to our petition to Governor Dayton and Rep. KahnWe’ll deliver it to the Governor’s office and Rep. Kahn’s office to help add to the public pressure on them both.
  2. Call the Governor’s Office at 651-201-3400. Tell Governor Dayton that you are opposed to secret government lists being used to keep you from exercising your constitutional rights
  3. Send an e-mail to Governor Dayton through his on-line contact form.
  4. Call Representative Kahn at 651-296-4257Tell Rep. Kahn that you are opposed to secret government lists being used to keep you from exercising your constitutional rights.
  5. Send an email to Rep. Kahn through this link. In your email, be polite but reiterate your position firmly.
  6. If you haven’t already joined, please join the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus as a member. Your annual membership of $40 comes with a set of great benefits and discounts from retailers and instructors. Other membership programs are also available.

Your membership of $40 or more will help us with the critical support we need to continue the fight against the gun grabbers.

Dear Governor Dayton and Lt. Governor Smith: I grew up in Rochester in the late 1970s. My sister, niece and their two children live in Minneapolis and I visit often. It has come to my attention that Representative Phyllis Kahn has introduced a particularly heinous piece of legislation that would ban anyone on the infamous “no-fly list” (NFL) that is barely managed by our federal government, who believe they can solve anything if enough of our constitutional rights are constrained. The NFL is, like any bad law, perfectly and poorly conceived to maximize paranoia and punishment without any component of… Read more »

A theory why big money wants us not to have firearms. The “Elite” will start to live a lot longer due to access to cloning events. It will become evident the lifespan will increase of some persons will be hundreds of years. That would not be natural in any sense. I think they would fear the rest of us because they’re so special and not willing to share. I wonder if Hilliary is so healthy after being at deaths door due to cloned replacement part? Just saying…..

You can’t blame these people. It’s the fools who voted them in that are responsible for this. What’s most important is the education of the people of this state to go out and VOTE. You reap what you sow.

I was born in 1946 in St. Paul, Minnesota. I graduated HS in 1964. By that time the state was starting to go left, so I left! Since then they elected a wrestler as Governor, and a very poor comedian to Congress….. Is this next? Minnesota is becoming a suburb of New York and California…….

What would she say about a secret government list to stop Rep. Kahn from speaking in public. If it’s good for the 2A it’s only a matter of time until someone thinks it’s good for the rest.
