NEWTOWN, Conn – -(Ammoland.com)- Earlier last week, National Shooting Sports Foundation , along with 35 national sportsmen’s and conservation groups representing millions of hunters, anglers, and target shooters, sent a letter (below) to Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) urging him to stop blocking progress on portions of the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act in the U.S. Senate.

The Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act, along with the House version, the SHARE Act, is the most important piece of legislation to sportsmen in a generation.

The SHARE Act passed the House two weeks ago with overwhelming bipartisan support.

There is also overwhelming bipartisan support in the Senate for the bill, but Sen. Lee, along with one or two other senators is preventing the Senate from being allowed to vote on the bill.

All sportsmen-conservationists, including hunters, anglers and target shooters, should call Sen. Lee at 202-224-5444 and urge him to lift his hold, and allow the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act to get a vote in the U.S. Senate.

Please note it is “bi-partisan.” I’ll bet Democrat anti-gunners have something they like hidden in there. I could not help but notice there is no endorsement from NRA, GOA, NAGR, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, or Law Enfocement Alliance of America. What’s up there!???

Maybe we should ask Lee to “stand your ground.”

Lee and Cruz are Pro-gun, and Pro Constitution. I would also like to know why Lee is blocking the bill.

Somehow the “WHY” is always excluded in the story line of the reasons why people either vote for, or against certain legislation.

In my experience to date, if either Mike Lee or Ted Cruz is holding up a bill, there is a good reason, usually constitutional in nature. How about publishing Senator Lee’s rationale for blocking the bill. Since the issue in question seems to be related to a comprehensive energy bill, my suspicion is that there is a LOT more at stake here than just the Sportsman’s Act. Especially in view of the fact that Senator Lee has always been very pro-gun and pro-hunting and fishing, we certainly owe it to him , and ourselves, to see what the Senator’s reason… Read more »
