Las Vegas, NV –-(Ammoland.com)- A recent news story in Texas reports a young variety store clerk fatally shot a suspected robber inside his store around 9:30 a.m. on a Friday morning.

KHOU Houston Texas:

“A  25-year-old store clerk fatally shot a suspected robber inside his store, Houston police confirmed.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Friday at 8624 W. Montgomery Road.

Police said it wasn’t immediately clear if the masked suspect was armed.

The other workers ran to the back of the store when he came in.

“I left the back room to see if he was OK, see where he was at,” Ivan Sanchez said. “And when I left the back room, and when I go out there, I see him with the robber and the robber was already lying on the floor.”

The other workers ran to the back of the store when they saw the masked suspect come in. Instead of running, the clerk drew his legally carried gun and fired two shots.

This place has been robbed several times in recent months. In one of those incidents this same clerk gave them everything they demanded and the robbers still hit with him in the head with a gun.

Given that history it no wonder that the clerk fired at the threat.

Comment :

Makes no difference if the bad guy really has a gun or not, the threat is real! Nowadays the victim often gets hurt (or killed) even if co-operating with criminals. It appears experience taught this victim it’s safer to fight!

The threat is “real” even if there is a fake gun, a look alike BB gun or no gun at all. If the bad guy pretends he is putting your life in danger by word or deed, you may believe him. And use a gun to defend yourself in the process.

This is a very bad example of CC.
No firearm is being reported at this time.

One less armed robber in this world is a good thing. Good job on the part of the clerk.

Something tells me this employee is black. Had he been white I have to believe the community support would not be there. Hope I’m wrong.
