SIG SAUER Announces New Marketing Leadership Team

Company Hires New Vice President of Marketing, Director of Marketing & Communications, and Director of Channel Marketing

Newington, NH -(AmmoLand.com)- SIG SAUER, Inc., announced today that the company has restructured its leadership within the marketing department with the addition of three new hires.

The new team members will help strengthen the company’s external and internal communication capabilities while increasing SIG SAUER’s marketing presence and influence within its various product divisions. The group, directed by Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Commercial Sales for SIG SAUER, consists of Sean Salter, Vice President of Marketing, Jordan Hunter, Director of Marketing & Communications, and Amy Dee, Director of Channel Marketing.

Now leading the marketing team is SIG SAUER’s new Vice President of Marketing – Sean Salter. Salter will be responsible for all SIG SAUER consumer and retail customer marketing strategies as well as brand and business development initiatives. In joining SIG SAUER, Salter brings extensive global marketing experience in wholesale, retail and international markets as well as developing consumer-marketing strategies across key distribution channels.

Most recently, Salter served as Head of Global Retail Environment for Harley-Davidson, where he was responsible for global retail development and enhancing customer experiences. Prior to Harley-Davidson, Salter was Vice President of Marketing for SPANX, where he led global marketing, creative, e-commerce, public relations and retail. Salter has also held a variety of retail and brand marketing leadership positions with multiple companies, including LL Bean, Polo, Ralph Lauren, American Eagle Outfitters and Finish Line.

Reporting directly to Salter is SIG SAUER’s new Director of Marketing & Communications – Jordan Hunter. In his new role, Hunter will oversee corporate marketing and communication functions; and manage media and consumer perceptions through integrated brand management strategies. Hunter joins SIG SAUER from Daniel Defense where he was the Director of Marketing. In that role, Hunter built and managed a highly functional team responsible for the perception and positioning of all Daniel Defense brands. His past responsibilities included brand management, public relations, corporate sponsorships, event management, advertising, sales collateral and television commercial conceptualizations and production.

Also joining the SIG SAUER team is new Director of Channel Marketing – Amy Dee. Dee will be responsible for the identification, development and implementation of strategic channel initiatives including retail sales programs, training, new product launches and retail execution. Dee will work closely with all Business and Product Units to implement channel insights and consumer promotions to increase product distribution and market share.

Dee joins SIG SAUER from the Remington Outdoor Company, where she served as Director, Channel Marketing since 2012. While there, she acted as the liaison for both the internal and external client base creating brand, category and product promotions; developing and implementing loyalty programs, as well as national consumer and account specific promotions. Dee brings with her a breadth of CPG experience previously working for Spectrum Brands and Remington Products Company in Trade Marketing, Brand and Product Management arenas.

I’m an FFL gunsmith. After trying most of the competitors in the 9 mm sub-compact category, I recently purchased a Sig 938 with an OEM Sig laser for my own collection. At nearly twice the price of some of the others, I was expecting a premium firearm with meticulous factory preparation. After cleaning and lubing it, I took it to the range. The trigger was awful beyond belief, and I couldn’t hit the paper with either the the iron or the laser sight. Wow, SIG hired a guy as VP of Marketing to sell silencers, machine-guns, pistols , MSRs, etc. who has absolutely no experience in the firearms industry. But wait there’s more! He has worked in marketing for: Spanx – a ladies underwear and girdle company, Marc Ecko Enterprises – “a leader in youth apparel and streetwear,” WHITE HOUSE BLACK MARKET – “a multichannel fashion retailer” of woman’s clothes, etc., etc..
