Seminar to be held during annual conference in Louisville, Kentucky, Aug. 14-19, 2016.
Doylestown, Pa. (Ammoland.com) – The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) will hold a Training Management & Risk Mitigation seminar during the 33rd annual Tactical Operations Conference & Trade Show, Aug. 14-19, 2016, at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. It will be taught by Randy Watt, president of SRW Strategic and Tactical Special Operations Training and Services, on Aug. 17 and 18.
This two-day, 16-hour seminar will provide SWAT team leaders and trainers with the ability to design, plan and prepare proactive training guidelines, manuals, events, calendars and support documents in order to best utilize their limited training time and opportunities. This course will help SWAT personnel become more capable and help teams become more skilled and effective. It also will provide SWAT team leaders and trainers with proven risk mitigation methodologies to counter threats within the three main risk areas for SWAT teams: legal, training and operations.
Watt started SRW Inc., a private corporation, in 2006. He retired as assistant chief of police of the Ogden, Utah, Police Department in October 2011. For 32 years he served in various assignments and at all levels of supervision and leadership, winning numerous medals and commendations, including the department’s Medal of Valor (twice awarded). Watt has extensive training and experience in tactical operations, ranging from high-risk warrant service to hostage rescues. He is a nationally recognized expert in the field of law enforcement special operations and counter-terrorism. He also recently retired as a colonel in the Utah Army National Guard and was commander of the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), commanding 2,100 Green Berets located in nine states.
