ST. JOHNS, Newfoundland – -(Ammoland.com)-Internationally recognized conservation authority, speaker, and author, Shane Mahoney, is the keynote speaker at the 11th Annual Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) Annual Business Conference June 15-18 in Kalispell, MT.

Mahoney will speak during the opening night dinner, sponsored by the Boone and Crockett Club, and again on June 16th about how outdoor writers can best communicate a myriad of conservation topics given the challenges of the 21st century.

“Conservation is everyone’s responsibility and should be everyone’s concern,” says Mahoney. “In today’s world, wildlife does not exist by accident. It only exists through the actions we engage and the commitments we make. Conserving the abundance and diversity of wild creatures is crucial to our human existence at so many levels – physical, spiritual, and esthetic. That is why conservation matters and why every citizen has a vital role to play”

Mahoney will also be featured in two panel discussions during the conference: “Finding Our Voice” and “Future of Public Land Hunting & Conservation.” Outdoor writers are encouraged to schedule time with Mahoney for more in-depth conversations to assist with their articles. Contact Michelle at [email protected] to schedule.

POMA is a group of individual communicators and corporate partners who believe in, defend, support, and promote our hunting, fishing, shooting, and traditional outdoor sports heritage through writing, photography, and other means.

“Outdoor writers are the best positioned to bring critical topics to the public, to encourage public engagement in wildlife conservation issues, and to inspire people to find common ground for discussions that will lead to broader and more diverse coalitions in support of our natural world. I am honored to have the opportunity to meet and speak with this group of professionals,” Mahoney concluded.
