Fairfax, Va. – -(Ammoland.com)- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today announced its endorsement of Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan in his re-election bid to the U.S House of Representatives.

“Paul Ryan’s leadership in the fight to preserve our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage has earned him the trust and support of the National Rifle Association,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman, NRA-PVF.

“As a lifelong outdoorsman and avid hunter, we can trust Paul to continue to fight for the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding gun owners in Wisconsin and across the United States.”Paul Ryan has earned an “A+” from the NRA for this election.”

“This rating is the NRA’s highest and is reserved for legislators with not only an excellent voting record on all critical NRA issues, but also a demonstrated and vigorous effort to defend and promote the Second Amendment. He has strongly opposed President Obama’s numerous attempts to ban lawfully owned firearms, ammunition and magazines. Equally impressive, he has fought against the gun control agenda promoted by Obama, Hillary Clinton and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Among Ryan’s notable actions:

• Worked to pass a bill that prohibited the abusive Obama administration practice known as “Operation Choke Point.” This bill prevented the Department of Justice from intimidating banks and financial institutions into refusing/severing services to legal ammunition and firearms dealers.
• Protected and enhanced the rights of sportsman nationwide by orchestrating passage of the SHARE Act, which promoted America’s hunting heritage and positively impacted sportsmen.
• Co-sponsored the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2015 that would ensure law-abiding Americans with concealed handgun permit can carry their firearms in other states that do not prohibit concealed carry.

“The NRA is honored to endorse Paul Ryan and appreciates his steadfast support of the Second Amendment,” continued Cox. “The NRA encourages all gun-owners, hunters and sportsmen to vote re-elect Paul Ryan this November.”

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation’s leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services. As an American veteran who WAS considering an NRA membership…..FORGET IT. If the leadership is THIS frigging stupid I’m not giving a cent.

Donald Trump fan

Paul Ryan is a compromised, weak, weak man. Who cares if he doesn’t back Trump. The fact he isn’t makes it even more compelling to back Trump. Weak men don’t support Trump because he reflects what pansies they truly are. Women hate weak men.

Bigjet

NRA get you head out of your A$$. are you conservative or are you in bed with the corrupt. Letter from Paul Nehlen. I’d like to begin by briefly discussing Paul Ryan’s betrayal of the Republican nominee for Ryan’s own personal enrichment. Speaker Ryan’s repeated betrayal of Donald Trump is an act of sabotage against our Party and an act of sabotage against our Republican electorate who selected Mr. Trump as our nominee. Speaker Ryan’s actions once again indicate that has never cared about his constituents that he’s been elected to represent. Paul Ryan’s only ambition is his own personal… Read more »

Truth

I am a lifetime member of the NRA and I endorse Paul Nehlen! The last person I would vote for is the phony sellout Paul “Lyin” Ryan.

Butch

This backing of Paul Ryan for reelection by the NRA totally repulses me. Paul Ryan has been nothing but a thorn in the Republican Parties side since he was elected speaker of the house. He is a two faced politician that as the American Indians say “speaks with forked tongue”. I don’t care if he is a gun supporter, he does not uphold the values of the everyday American. Have you people at the NRA not kept up with politics on the hill since he became speaker of the house? When he should have stood up and fought against the… Read more »

Butch,

Let us not forget that Paul Ryan was “elected” Speaker of the House by his fellow Republicans. I called my sh*t bird Rep’s D.C. office several times, asking him NOT to vote for Ryan to be Speaker. Guess what ? He voted for the POS !

So, while we bemoan the POS Ryan, consider your Republican congressman who may have voted for Ryan. They are every bit a part of the Ryan problem and Ryan himself.

Michael

OK – help me out here – which one in the picture is the “turkey!” As a Life Member of the NRA (and the Texas State Rifle Association), I prefer to provide most of financial support these days to the GOA due to its unbending support for the 2nd Amendment. True, the NRA has become like AARP, pushing RINO politicians and issues only of interest to their own compromised values.

DAN III

Michael,

Perhaps you’d care for some of that NRA Ripple, errr Thunderbird, I mean fine wine they’re hawking. It has to be good because they care more about selling wine and life insurance and Made in (Red) China trinkets, than they do keeping their members informed of anti-gun attacks coming out of DC and the Oval Office.

I’m an NRA life member and I regret it. Time to get rid of the two “happy”, six figure salaried, NRA do-nothings….Cox and LaPierre. They’re the driving force behind the wine, life insurance and sucking of scum like Ryan and Reid.

Michael

Help me out please – which one is the turkey in the picture? I support the GOA and Ryna’s opponent in this election.

Mike Murray

OH, PLEASE, just send the P.O.S. home. I wouldn’t trust Ryan to lead a mud fight at a hog farm.

Will

If I lived in Wisconsin, I would NOT support Ryan. He and unfortunately most Republicans also support the TPP Treaty. There have been other Candidates I have disagreed with also. NRA needs to look past the single issue of Gun Rights before endorsing them.

Bigjet

Since you don’t live in Wisconsin you can support Paul Nehlen with donations which he needs to boot Lyin Ryan out the door. Go on Nehlels website. Fight the RINO’s!!!!

Red Fotog

The NRA has gone too far this time, involving itself in an internecine struggle for control of the House. Lyin’ Ryan is a RINO, and not a true Republican. He is a profligate wastrel, heIIbent on ruining employment opportunities for Americans. Looks like I am going to drop my NRA membership and let the illegal aliens take a turn supporting the Gun Lobby.

H.K. Latham

I gave up on the NRA years ago due to their lying, arrogant and superior attitude when I called them. They know better what best for us. Like the AARP. They messed up our state grassroots efforts years ago. I still support GOA and the 2nd Amendment Foundation. Don’t know what the one fellow had against Ted Cruz, but thought he was decent on the 2nd. Wish more suppliers (Midway, etc.) would have choices for donations to These groups instead of just the NRA. Ryan is a traitor to gun rights. Just in the last week or so Ryan said… Read more »

This the problem of single issue entities. This RINO IS the problem. His voting record is abysmal unless you are a democrat then you would be proud of that record. NRA get your head out of where the sun doesn’t shine and take everything into account not just the 2nd but ALL of the amendments. When ANY one of the amendments is attacked then ALL the patriots need to go and defend that which is under duress not just one of them and to hell with the others even if it doesn’t affect you, it affects other patriots and we… Read more »

Sold out! Endorsing the traitor Ryan? For shame. Two weeks ago I extended my membership. Now I fully regret this. I will however, continue to support JPFO.

hijinx60

As another life member of the NRA, I also vehemently disagree with this endorsement of Ryan. He has voted for far too many of Obama’s unconstitutional acts to depend on him to stay strong on 2A. I will not leave the NRA, but will note my objections.

Rusty

My hope is that the NRA endorsement carries the same weight for Ryano as it did for the GOP establishment RINO Wayne Stenejhem here in ND.
That is to say ZILCH !
Unfortunately, another sellout to the RINO establishment has become the norm for the NRA.

DanT

Add ME to the list of those who oppose and disagree with this endorsement of Paul Ryan by the National Rifle Association. I am a Life Member of the NRA and I believe I truly wasted my money and energy with them. I’ve thought about joining Gun Owners of America. However, when THEY endorsed the Canadian-Cuban Cruz for POTUS that was the end of THAT idea !

Just who does one trust anymore to represent their beliefs and the Constitution of the USA ?

don

Cruz is my senator and you will never find anyone more stauchly pro gun and pro bill of rights than Cruz. GOA is an excellent take no prisoners organization and their endorsement of Cruz was based on his outstanding pro gun record. Cruz was also the most conservative, pro American and pro gun candidate for president the Republicans had. You obviously know nothing about the man.

TEX

Cruz is a coward, traitor, and a liar ! I know more about that bast*ard than I want to. His political career is over and Trump will make sure of that.

don

Again you know not what you talk about. You must be a Hillary supporter.

Wild Bill

Gentlemen of The Republic of Texas, please! We may disagree about our senators, points of law, the proper preparation of chicken fried steak, and what is the best deer rifle, but there is no need to be insulting. Hillary supporter! That sounds like some kind of unmentionable medical undergarment!

TEX

@Dubi,since you’re such an expert on Cruz, expert this ! Cruz ended his political career at the RNC when his holier than thou ass did that “vote your conscience” BS ! Cruz will never be re-elected to US Senate from TX ! It’s become real clear to me why the SOB is despised in the Senate. As far as being a Hillary supporter,FU*CK YOU !

Rosemary Brimeyer

I do not believe you know what you are accusing ted Cruz about, Paul Ryan sold us out in November 2015 he signed a budget giving Obama a open check book and his main goal is to cut Social security you may not have any to collect if and when you retire, Ryan has constantly lied to the voters and needs to be removed, that is the problem in the Senate they keep voting the career politicians back in and they are all millionaires and care less about the people who put them in office.

DAN III

don, People like you are the Americans I take issue with. Cruz can be as wonderful as you say he is. However, you don’t know or care about the US Constitution. Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5. Cruz IS NOT a natural born citizen. He was born on foreign soil to a non-American father. In fact he was a Canadian citizen until just a few years ago when he decided he should renounce his Canuck citizenship. For a man who wraps himself in the US Constitution Cruz sure did thumb his Canadian-Cuban nose at the President eligibility clause, “eh” (I… Read more »

don

Actually Cruz IS an American citizen, and a hell of a lot more of an American than you. He had dual citizenship. I don’t deserve to be an American? Seems to me that is the same thing Hitler said when he decided Jews don’t deserve to be German citizens. It is very clear what you are

TEX

@Dubi,just what are you other than a piss*ant ?

Wild Bill

@Dubi, Actually Cruz is an American Citizen, but not a natural born citizen. Cruz is a derivative citizen, through his mother. Thus Ted Cruz is ineligible to be potus. Please see DAN III @ para one supra. The people trying to explain this to you are clearly constitutionalists.

DAN III

don, So, tell me what makes me less than an American than the Cuban-Canadian Rafael Cruz ? While I gave you specifics as to why Cruz and soetoro-obama are constitutional frauds, you can only answer with an ad hominem attack on my accurate remarks regarding Lyin’ Ted. Because of ignorance of the Amerikan people, using your remarks as an example, this country is in deep turmoil to the point of self-destruction. So, one more time for you….Rafael Cruz, Lyin’ Ted, is not natural born. This ineligible for POTUS. But, with the illegal Kenyan being placed as POTUS in violation of… Read more »

Add me to the list. The NRA has pursued a near-sighted policy of endorsing Chamber of Commerce RINOs who profess to support the 2nd Amendment, regardless of their otherwise toxic and duplicitous histories and policies. Ryan is yet another RINO who has genuflected to every far-left initiative that has crossed his desk, beginning with his very first action as Speaker – forcing the disastrous “Omnibus bill” through the House. He moreover has blocked or failed to support any of the Conservative initiatives that have crossed his desk. Shame on the NRA (again!)

CoosaTotahK9

As an Endowment Member of NRA I not only wholeheartedly disagree with this endorsement but I am disgusted and appalled at NRA for making endorsements that undermine our trust and our Rights as individuals to make up our own minds. NRA, you DO NOT speak for me with such endorsements. STOP playing political games with our Rights as bargaining chips and START defending our unalienable Rights WITHOUT compromise! If the NRA is to endorse any political figure it should be by a majority vote of ALL members (published) and NOT by the tyrannical decisions of the few elitists of the… Read more »

I quit the NRA over their endorsement of Harry Reid. Their one issue policy is idiotic and self defeating. Join another gun rights organization. NRA are ass hats.

Brubaker50

As a former NRA member…and a former GOA member (“former” after GOA endorsed the Canadian Ted Cruz for POTUS)…I am repulsed, but not surprised by NRA’s endorsement of the traitor to the U.S. Constitution, “Benedict” Paul Ryan. When any CONgress-critter openly supports the foreign invasion of our once-sovereign nation by illegal and undocumented foreigners in violation of existing immigration laws…and supports treaties with foreign nations that undermine the ever-diminishing sovereignty of this country, he is a “Traitor” who needs to be properly tried in a court of law, then hung by the neck like any good Traitor to his country… Read more »

As a brand new NRA member and a long time follower of US politics, I vehemently DISAGREE with the endorsement.
I am financially supporting the other guy that’s a Tea Party patriot even though I live in NJ

don

Also as an NRA member I strongly disagree with this endorsement. Ryan recently attempted to pass anti gun legislation to appease the whining anti gun democrats. Fortunately Ryan has a staunch pro gun primary challenger, Paul Nehlen, 1112 56th St, Kenosha, WI 53140. Please send contributions and help kick RINO Ryan out of the house. You may not vote in his district but your checks can.

superwoman

As a non NRA member, I wholeheartedly disagree with this endorsement.

Ryan is a crime family puppet and hasn’t done squat for we the people.

Mike Renta

As a Life member of the NRA, i wholeheartedly disagree with this appointment. If ryan will capitulate to obama on healthcare, immigration, and the budget, when he promised the opposite, how can he be trusted to uphold our 2nd amendment rights? He has lost the trust of THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, i will now make a contribution to his competetor insteadnof to ILA
