Delray Beach, FL -(AmmoLand.com)- Century Arms, North America’s premier AK manufacturer, is proud to announce the introduction of the new addition to their AK-47 accessory line, the AK Mirco Dot Side Mount.

This solid and easy-to-install mount contains features that set it apart considerably from other side mounts currently available on the market.

“This is a year full of exciting and innovative new product introductions for Century Arms,” said Jacob Herman, Century Arms Director of Business Development. “This AK receiver rail and side mount represent a true evolution of optics mounting systems for the AK platform. We now have something to complement the accuracy of our rifles and are eager to see them get out to the public.”

The AK Micro Dot Side Mount is machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and is hardcoat anodized per MIL-A-8625F Type III, Class 2 specifications, giving it superior overall strength. The AK Micro Dot Side Mount is the first AK side scope rail mount that has true return-to-zero capability. The mount offers four times the clamping engagement over traditional side scope rail mounts, improves sight acquisition for follow-up shots and allows for complete field stripping of the rifle without removal of the mount. It is compatible with most standard T1/H1 style optics and provides a modular mounting system to adjust the optic from front to back.

The AK Micro Dot Side Mount includes all necessary hardware and has a suggested retail price of $119.99.

      1. as far as this new side rail system for the 47 i have not been able to find anything that would suggest that you can mount a regular scope on it. this side rail system is designed for micro red dots only. the vortex sparc 2 is what i would recommend. if you are wanting to mount a regular scope i would suggest the Hephaestus CNC top rail. youll have to see if it will fit your variation of the AK but it is one of the sturdiest top rail systems out there and you could definitely mount a scope on that. Good luck

        1. im sorry about this comment. upon further research i learned the hephastus is a damn air-soft accessory. please refer to my second post.

Good luck

    1. I purchased a new C39V2 from Bud’s Gun shop a few months ago and it has no side rail of any kind. What are my options for having my rifle retrofitted for a side rail ? I am 66 years old and my eyes are in bad need of optics for this gun.

      Thanks, Dale

      1. I think you can contact Century Arms directly. I thought I saw a video of one of their top execs saying they would be offering retrofit work on the C39V2’s that didn’t have them.
But, more selfishly. . . .I also just bought a C39V2 from Buds Gun shop last night. In the description it clearly states “1st AK side rail mount with return to zero blah blah blah” but there wasn’t a picture of the left side of the rifle. Did yours say that it was gonna have the rail in the description or not? I think pre-March they didn’t have them installed. I’m worried that I may end up getting a pre-March of 2016 rifle even though the description says it has the rail.

        1. Century Arms has replied to my email and has no program to modify the C39V2 Rifles that were manufactured without a side rail. They have suggested I contact a gunsmith. That is as far as I’ve gone with the dilemma thus far. If anyone finds new information or a gunsmith doing this work, please advise.

          Thanks, Dale [email protected]

      2. I’m 57 and want the same thing, even though my eyesight remains good. Having a powerful rifle with no ability to shoot beyond one’s own eyesight (and the notoriously so-so AK-47 sights).

I wonder about retrofitting from Century, or better yet, something that will fit the existing rifle (yours and mine and all others who bought them up till now).

        1. Check this out. Probably want to have a gunsmith attach the rail on your receiver, but it might be what you’re looking for.

Personally, I put on the Holosun HS503G ACSS red dot with the century arms red army rail. I love it, but it doesn’t magnify. I’m probably never gonna shoot my AK past 200 yrds though, so I think its a great red dot for short and medium range. I’ll put a link to a “AK Operators Union” video showing the setup you’d need for your c39v2 without the rail already attached. (you’d have to attach a “RS regulate rail” to your rifle) I believe the RS Regulate rail will allow you to put a magnified optic on your AK. In this video however, he is shooting with the same red dot I put on my rifle.

          Hope it helps.

      3. Dale try premier shooting solutions they have a master mount rail for ak-47’s that can be put n without a gunsmith
