Canyon County, ID -(AmmoLand.com)- We are just a few days away from the 2nd and 3rd rally of the “Your Castle” tour.
The first rally was in Mt. Home and we had a good turn out with some great patriots..
The next two rallies will take place in Lewiston and Bonners Ferry THIS WEEK!
They will take place on the 23rd and 24th of September respectively. .
The Lewiston rally will feature ISAA President Greg Pruett, Lewiston City Council member R.J. Johnson, Christy Zito, and possibly another special guest speaker!
The Bonner’s Ferry rally will feature ISAA President Greg Pruett, Rep. Heather Scott, Christy Zito, and Rep. Matt Shea from the State of Washington.
Some of you have asked why we need an update to our Castle Doctrine. The truth is that we really don’t have much of one in the first place!
When Idaho’s “Castle Doctrine” was written back in the 1970’s they basically put the burden of proof on the gun owner (the victim) to prove that you needed to shoot the person breaking into your home.
Essentially, if you shoot someone in your home right now, you better be able to prove that your life was in jeopardy or you felt that your families life was in jeopardy.
Does that really sound like a Castle Doctrine to you?
Should you have to wonder all these things in the dead of night?
In Texas and Florida, if someone breaks into your home and you kill them, it is on the CRIMINAL to prove that you shot him maliciously.
Now that sounds like a Castle Doctrine don’t you think?!!!
In addition to us putting the burden of proof on the criminal, we want to ensure that gun owners are protected from the criminal’s family members who may want to sue you for defending your life.
There are other reasons it needs updated as well and our attorney, Alexandria Kincaid, put together a video with me explaining exactly why. You can see that video here: https://www.youtube.com/

So why come to the rallies?
- Be a part of something bigger than yourself.
- Learn why a new Castle Doctrine is needed.
- Show anti-2nd Amendment Republicans and Democrats we are not going away despite Permitless Carry passing.
- Have a chance to meet some of the great people working behind the scenes for your gun rights.
Our staff donates a lot of time to helping move gun rights in Idaho and we ask that you spend a little time to show them your support!
