USA – -(Ammoland.com)- The title of this piece will become evident by the time you’re done reading this, I promise, so I’ll start here; I’m a huge fan of attacking the mainstream media and for that matter, the political left in general when it comes to our gun rights and their deep disdain for our constitutional freedoms.
I believe that we can tie everything that ills this nation, and there are many ills, in one way or another back to the media. It’s not hard to do, in fact, I’ve been doing it for years on the radio.
Frankly, the “fourth estate” has become a blatant propaganda wing for the political left and anyone awake over the last few decades has felt its creep.
The dangers this poses to not only our gun rights but all of our fundamental freedoms is very real, and this week’s column addresses the tactics used by the left, as evidenced in a story from Sky News titled “Titanic-Style Disaster Warning Over Luxury Arctic Cruises.”
It specifically highlights the framework which the left uses to attack whatever it is they want to control, regardless of the topic.
So just what do icebergs, the Titanic, and guns have in common?
Nothing, I’ll give you that, however a couple of weeks back I mentioned that the left slips up from time to time when writing or talking about gun rights. This week, in the Sky-News piece about luxury cruises heading to the Arctic, while not about gun rights, their playbook is left wide-open.
Take a look at a few passages I’ve pulled to make my point:
- “Experts are warning there could be a Titanic-style disaster and serious environmental damage unless controls are brought in for cruise ships in the Arctic Ocean.”
- “Although climate change means the region is iceberg free in summer, two shipping executives fear a disaster unless guidelines are brought in to protect passengers and the environment.”
- “There is a need to discuss possible regulation … so we must do everything we can do to prevent this.”
- “Although Crystal Serenity’s operator said the ship did not use such fuel during its trip, Daniel Skjeldam, CEO of cruise ship operator Hurtigruten, fears a tragedy unless regulations are tightened.”
Keep in mind that the story is from the British press (Sky News), not the corrupt US media. Let us dissect the four excerpts from the story, one by one to expose how the left frames their arguments. Firstly, who are the “experts” to whom the column is referring? Conveniently for them, they are never identified. Secondly, “climate change” is used as an excuse for two more unidentified “executives” to claim “guidelines” must be created to “protect passengers and the environment.” Thirdly, requiring “guidelines” sets up the need for “regulations” so we can “do everything we can” to avert an unforeseen disaster and last but not least, there will be “tragedy” unless those new laws are not only enacted but “tightened.”
Where have we seen this before? Every single day in the fight for gun rights. It’s a common tactic employed by the progressive left. The gun-grabbers create a problem, suggest a solution, tell us they need to save us from ourselves then regulate that which they previously had no control over.
Here in America the lamestream media strategy plays out like this:
- un-American gun-grabber group sets sights on “assault weapons” or “weapons of war” and claims we need “more controls” over the sale and use of said weapons.
- “Experts” claim that new “guidelines” need to be enacted to keep us safe from ourselves.
- After another psychopath goes haywire and murders innocent Americans or a Muslim terrorist unloads in another terror attack, the un-American gun-grabbers begin the cries for “regulation” because “we must do everything we can do to prevent this.” In other words, “we have to do something” to “prevent this,” (read; ban)
- un-American gun-grabbers spread fear of more attacks unless regulations are enacted and tightened.
No matter what it is, the socialists rules of the game are the same; Create a problem in search of a solution that fits their agenda, spread fear and lies to enact regulation and ultimate control.
Look at this as a global football league. America is just one team, and Hillary Clinton wants to be the coach. The league management wants every team using the same playbook. Trump, on the other hand, intends to rewrite the rules for the players. On November 8th 2016 we’re going to pick that new coach. While you may not like the man, you’d better hope he’s the one jogging out of the “locker room” and onto the field when the new season begins January 20th, 2017.
