Like a modern “Postal League” competitors shoot in any of 9 disciplines at their local range, then submit their scores through the league's website each week. Junior and Senior shooters of all skill levels are welcome to participate.
“We are hosting this competition to demonstrate how easy it is to run and participate in the shooting sports online,” says co-founder and CEO Alissa Haggstrom, “Learning, practicing, winning or meeting other people who share our common interests. That's what we are about. We are building a place for shooters to come together in a way they never have before.”
The Kick-Off League marks the beginning of phase 2 of the development of The Net Competitor Community. It's built on the concept of a postal match, like the IER&PA Postal Tournament which will be in its 97th year this January and hosted on Net Competitor for its 5th year.
“The postal match is evolving,” says Matt Haggstrom, co-founder and CTO, “We have a lot of plans in the pipeline and we can't wait to share them. You can already see the impact of what we are doing.”
The VT Winter Postal is a good example. Popularity has increased since debuting on Net Competitor which prompted a name change – The National Rifle League.
There's another first for Net Competitor, the introduction of archery and shotgun along the familiar lineup of pistol and rifle disciplines. Both are featured in November's Kick-Off League. There is even a special discipline for new shooters who may have never been in a competition before.
Kick-Off League Disciplines:
- Free Pistol
- Precision Pistol
- 10 Meter Air Pistol
- 18 Meter Target Archery
- .22 Rifle Prone
- .22 Rifle Prone – Rookie Division
- 3P .22 Rifle
- 3P Air Rifle
Entry is $5 dollars per person per discipline ($3 Rookie Division), with 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Awards in each. There will also be sponsored product prizes, weekly themes and giveaways. Registration is open now at http://kickoff.postalleague.com until November 6th, when the first targets are due. Scores can be entered as soon as October 31st.
Join us on Net Competitor this winter and have some fun with people from all across the United States, Canada and other parts of the world!
