Virginia – -(Ammoland.com)- I received this from member Dave Schullery. A big “thank you!” to Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club! If I had realized Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club was doing this, I know I’d have loved to compete.

Sounds like a lot of fun, with plenty of challenges and an excellent idea for other gun clubs in Virginia:

Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club, in Charlottesville, has been the home to IDPA pistol competition since the early 1990’s.

A monthly match is held the 3rd Saturday of the month and details can be found at www.RivannaAP.org.

Inspired by our friends to the south in Roanoke (the Roanoke Rifle and Revolver Club) with their annual Virginia Citizens Defense League Benefit match, we decided to combine a BUG (Back Up Gun) side-match for the summer months with a worthwhile cause!

For $5 you can shoot this match geared to the pistols most people actually carry from day to day.

We raised $290 in total, which is being donated to Virginia Citizens Defense League to assist them in the work they do to protect our rights and sports.

About Virginia Citizens Defense League, Inc. (VCDL):

Virginia Citizens Defense League, Inc. (VCDL). VCDL is an all-volunteer, non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to defending the human rights of all Virginians. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a fundamental human right.

Good job Rivanna!
Not sure about having run IDPA “in the early 90’s,” since IDPA was founded in 1996.
