USA -(Ammoland.com)- Celestron has added yet another bird-watching accolade to its long list of awards.

Previously the number one pick by Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the Celestron Nature DX 8×42 recently ranked first overall in Audubon’s “Get in the Game” category of best birding binoculars under $200.

Professional ornithologists and dedicated birders volunteered to review over 30 models of binoculars from 11 companies for Audubon’s field test. Categories were set by retail price.

In the gear guide, Audubon notes, “When reviewers learned the price of these bins after testing, many were surprised that such affordable optics performed so well.”

Audubon concludes that, “You can spend a small fortune on the world’s finest binoculars, but you don’t have to break the bank to purchase a pair of optics that are great for birding.”

The Nature DX “outscored all (other binoculars) in their class in clarity, brightness and color rendition,” the Audubon field testers concluded.

High-quality BaK-4 prisms allow for excellent contrast and resolution, while phase-coated prisms provide optimal light transmission through the entire optical path for brighter images even under low-light conditions.

Birders and hunters will appreciate the 8x magnification and 42mm objective lenses, which mean that you can easily find and follow your subject in a wide field of view. Audubon’s field testers applauded the 6.5-foot close-focus capacity for observing nearby subjects as well.

Reviewers loved the sturdy feel of the model, but at just 22.2 ounces, they’re light enough to keep an eye on your target for hours without fatigue. The housing is rubber-armored polycarbonate to hold up well without extra weight.

The binoculars are waterproof, fog proof and nitrogen-purged, so that you will get the same clarity of image regardless of the weather.

The Nature DX uses twist-up eyecups with multiple stops to ensure proper positioning for your eyes, so eyeglasses don’t get in the way.

Celestron’s Nature DX series allows you to get in the game of serious sport optics without paying a premium price. Let the Nature DX 8×42 accompany you on your next excursion into the field, and you’ll see clearly what you’ve been missing.

Outside of birding, the Nature DX 8×42 is also perfect for concerts, sporting events and scouting for big game.
