Shenandoah, Va.-(Ammoland.com)- Walking through a dark parking lot at night, one’s situational awareness is likely to be on full alert. In other circumstances, danger seems highly improbable, such as when one is at home on the couch watching movies with loved ones. It’s in that moment – when your guard is down – that you and your family are the most vulnerable.

Now, thanks to the new Coffee Table, End Table and Night Stand from TacticalWalls, home defense firearms can be kept safely locked away within arm’s reach and readily accessible – even when you’re relaxing in your living room or sleeping in your bed.

The Coffee Table, End Table and Night Stand from TacticalWalls mark the first stand-alone locking units offered by the company. Similar to other offerings from TacticalWalls, they offer a clandestine storage solution for firearm owners to safely hide their defensive firearms in plain sight. Each unit is made from solid maple and built from start to finish in the TacticalWalls facility in Shenandoah, VA.

From the outside, the TacticalWalls Coffee Table and End Tables appear to be just a high-quality pieces of wood furniture. Pretty standard. But what is not standard is the hidden compartment that lies underneath. By swiping one of the two preprogrammed RFID cards that come with the unit, the hidden compartment underneath the table is unlocked and opens to grant access to one’s firearm.

“The new stand-alone products were a logical next step for us. They align with the TacticalWalls’ “Hidden in Plain Sight” philosophy while taking the installation component out of the equation for those who prefer less set up than our other offerings. They also feature the same quality craftsmanship on which we’ve built our reputation,” offered Chris Wood, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for TacticalWalls.

The TacticalWalls Coffee Table stands 19 inches tall, and measures 49 inches long and is 23 ¾ inches wide. Customers have the choice between Cherry, Dutch Walnut, Early American, Black and natural wood finishes. The interior dimensions of the hidden compartment are 37 ½ inches long, 11 ¾ inches wide and 2 inches deep.

The End Tables and Night Stand are both 25 inches tall and are a square 23 inches in width on the surface. The interior dimension of the hidden compartment is 14 inches long, 11 ¾ inches wide and 2 inches deep.

Each unit comes with a foam insert that fits inside the hidden compartment. To customize this for firearms, extra magazines or accessories, users simply trace out the shape of the objects they intend to store in the unit and cut out the foam with an X-Acto knife. After the foam has been cut, the backing on the foam insert can be peeled off, revealing an adhesive surface that sticks to the bottom of the hidden compartment.

Each unit will come standard with two key cards and one programming card used to match the key to the proper unit(s). Firearms owners can also order additional RFID cards if needed. The suggested retail prices on the new Coffee Table, End

Ya think thieves don’t keep tabs on such things to the point they even see one they already have a magnet ready? Better think again. Crooks keep current on the latest of everything from nanny cams to locks, alarms, etc. Recognizing what’s what is part of their trade.

Heck, at this retail – thief(s) will just haul off the entire valuable table with weapons tightly secured inside! Maybe bolt down version(s) might be next?

Very creative but $500 for a single simple night stand?

JnAZ

Agreed, definitely out of my price range. But no surprise as furniture in general is a high mark-up industry.

When you consider the furniture, then add the compartment, metal tracks that have to withstand the weight of that loaded shelf being dropped, the RFID equipment and the profit margin (yeah they are allowed to make a profit), all of a sudden it doesn’t appear to be so outrageous. Too pricey for me? Yup, but I sure would like to have one.
