FAIRFAX, Va. -(Ammoland.com)- The National Rifle Association continued its time-honored yearly tradition, hosting the 146th NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits Presented by MidwayUSA in downtown Atlanta April 27-30, 2017.

The marquee event, held this year at the Georgia World Congress Center, attracted 81,836 NRA members from across the country to celebrate Second Amendment freedoms.

This year’s event boasted the largest exhibit hall ever, featuring 15 acres of firearms, gear and outfitters from more than 800 exhibitors. On the heels of the 2016 Presidential election, the atmosphere in Atlanta was one of immense pride and victory.

It was also a time to remind NRA members that the fight to defend our cherished freedoms never ends, and that now is a time of great opportunity to build a better future for the Second Amendment and gun rights.

In addition to the sprawling exhibit hall, the NRA Annual Meetings featured an all-star lineup of special events and performances throughout the exciting four days. The NRA-ILA Leadership Forum Presented by Townhall Media and Bearing Arms was headlined by President Donald J. Trump, who reaffirmed his commitment to protecting gun rights to a sold-out crowd and thanked the NRA for their support in his successful 2016 campaign.

President Trump’s speech marked the first time a sitting U.S. President had addressed the NRA since President Ronald Reagan spoke at the NRA Annual Meetings in Phoenix in 1983.

The launch of NRA Carry Guard at the show introduced the most comprehensive training and insurance program for those who carry a gun, designed and backed by the country’s foremost authority on firearms training and the architect of the American concealed carry movement.

The sold-out Saturday Night Concert Featuring Hank Williams Jr. and Special Guest Lee Brice sponsored by Davidson’s Gallery of Guns rocked the house and continued the celebration that lasted throughout the weekend.

The National NRA Foundation Banquet sponsored by Henry Repeating Arms, Century Arms and Kimber kicked off the NRA Annual Meetings with an evening full of friends, family, firearms and fundraising. Nearly 1,500 patriots celebrated their freedoms with an energy-packed evening commemorating 25 years of Friends of NRA and its mammoth fundraising efforts.

Tens of thousands of NRA members look forward to the pageantry, pride and memories that can only be found at the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits.

We look forward to continuing the proud traditions of the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits next year in Texas, when we pull into Dallas May 3-6, 2018!

    1. This is a request to President Donald Trump
Please do away with the UN Small Arms Treaty. I believe this is an endeavor from the left and the One World Government to disarm the American citizens. Clearly it is in violation to the Second Amendment.
This should be done in short order.

    2. If any historian digs up all the “compromises”since the early 1900s that we are now saddled with THAT the good ole nra as noted in the March 1968 editorial page 15 and page 22 “Where the nra stands on gun legislation” that there have been “reasonable” sellouts on a consistent schedule many times since 1871. They supported the numerous encroaching “restrictions” that we enjoy today. And gave away your Rights. Giving a little bit at a time. Official Record. Read it yourself.
And these pages in the American Rifleman were printed BEFORE the nice nazi inspired Gun Control/Confiscation Act of 1968. And this is BEFORE most other 2nd Amendment supportive organizations were established.
Then recently the “disinviting” of sponsors and the railroading for the entrenched “good ole boys”on the board and hijacking the bylaws. A bunch of flaming hypocrites that have lost touch WHY they are there. Several NO COMPROMISE candidates not given the time of day for new efforts to restore lost Freedom. Sad that these bored traitors can and will sell all of us out and their track record to do so mostly shall continue. Sad that the big gorilla for 2nd Amendment Rights is obviously rotting from the head down and taking our Rights with it. And what part of “shall NOT be infringed do you NOT understand?” way up there in your ivory towers?
      Typical fluff piece as expected.
Neal Knox WAS right. And STILL is.
At least my funds now actually go elsewhere to better “no compromise” organizations.

      1. Look at who else the NRA endorsed over the years: Reagan – banned machine-guns and endorsed “assault weapons” and “hi-cap” magazine bans both domestic and imported, Bush 1 – banned imported “assault weapons” after his “no new gun laws” campaign promise, Bush 2 – was in favor of a permanent domestic “assault weapons” ban & did ZERO for the 2A, and now we have Trump who was in favor of an “assault weapons” and “hi-cap” magazine ban just five years ago and who is currently placing liberal democrats in places of power like endorsing anti-gun leftist Joe Lieberman for the head of the FBI! You don’t have to be a fortune teller to see how presidential anti-gun actions could be on the horizon. If Hillary won (maybe she did?) and if she wanted Lieberman as head of the FBI, the NRA and these so-called conservative talk show celebrities would be screaming to high heaven but Trump proposes things like this and all you hear are crickets.

And by the way, you are right – Neil Knox was spot on about the NRA back in the early 90s and today.
