Ft Collins, CO –-(Ammoland.com)- “The goal of Socialism is Communism.” ~ Vladimir Ulyanov (Vladimir Lenin)

“Gun Control,” Down South:

Five years ago, shortly after he took power in Venezuela, self-proclaimed Socialist, Nicolas Maduro, precipitously outlawed all private ownership of guns, as well as transfers of guns. All privately-owned guns were to be immediately “turned-in.”

Few were!

Shouting, “We are going to bring disarmament and peace,” Interior Minister Nestor Reverol has since staged a number of Stalinist-style gun-confiscation events, to the cheers of anti-gun politicians around the world, including some here in the USA.

Now, just five years later, Maduro, labeling all political opponents “imperialist aggressors,” has decided to reverse himself and actually start issuing military small arms to untrained civilians, but only to his supporters, whom he has now promoted to the rank of “Militiamen!”

A gun for every ‘Militiaman,’” he is now saying (with a straight face), doing a wonderful imitation of Mussolini, who did the identical thing.

This newly-formed army of modern-day “Blackshirts” will, of course, be expected to threaten, intimidate, herd into gulags, and ultimately murder all who fail to adulate Maduro and his every move.

Those who hesitate, will quickly find themselves on the “wrong side” of the political fence!

Are we paying attention?

The foregoing is where the wet-dream of “gun-control” fits-in with overall objectives of all crypto-Marxists. It always ends-up in the same place!

Only naive liberals claim (falsely) to be “surprised.” The rest of us surely aren’t!

“The worst enemies of new radicals are old liberals!” ~ Lenin, again…

Venezuela has been turned into a hole in the ground covered by an outdoor toilet.

Whatever

Remember, the U.S. Supreme Court has already stated that private gun ownership is to a certain degree a constitutional right. And this wasn’t just yesterday. The Supreme said that back in 2008. As for a fear about a total gun ban, you have to take in consideration that particular high court ruling (remember DC v. Heller).

Wild Bill

@Oldv, you may have something there. Maybe Francis does not even live in the U.S. Maybe he/she is an outsider just trying to manipulate Americans’ opinions.

JVJ

Seems Farman fears something already prohibited by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Farnam, as always, Your compendious posting “speaks” volumes! And , as always, Thank You.

Francis, how can you help a country with their economy when their government has pretty much ran into the ground all the industries that where there, have taken over external companies that helped with their economy. Helping them would like giving money to the tyrant to continue to oppress the people.. There’s only one solution and the people are doing the best they can with what they got at their disposal at the moment. If you read the article it clearly states that the tyrant disarmed the populace to prevent an armed revolt which is what is really needed to… Read more »

You could say – We will provide you with economic assistance. In exchange, you must agree that you will return the confiscated businesses to their rightful ownership, and abide by international law.

But if the US stands back and watch, then the USA cannot expect any leverage. At all. Worse, if the USA uses force, it would back up conspiracy theories.

Bill

You sound like youre from another planet. Really? We will help you but you have to play nice and play by the rules and GIVE BACK the stuff you took!!! Really?! Really?!!!!!!!!! You live in a fantasy world and you are just the type of people that makes all of this crap possible.

Francis King

You either help or you wring your hands. If you want in, you’ve got to help.

Wild Bill

Gentlemen, why not sit back and watch socialism/progressivism/liberalism /communism run its natural course, and let the world take careful notes. Maybe some academic at Berkley can do a study.

Tionico

Venezuela do not need “economic assistance”, they need the present government, and anything resembling it, to disapear. The corrupt tyrannical government have nationalised (seized, then run into the ground) every industry they had. Their imposition of marxist socialism has failed, they’ve disarmed the citizenry to prevent their rising up and throwing off the yoke of their bondage. The confiscated businesses have been destroyed by corrupt government mismanagement. READ the history of other nations where this has happened… Nicaragua, Cuba, Haiti, Argentina, South Africa (where it is happpening again), Rwanda, Nigeria, Somalia, No, until THE PEOPLE can rise up, throw off… Read more »

Tionico

Yup. A modern and updated remake of Cuba and Nicaragua.

Wild Bill

@FKINg, Leverage to do what? Why would the US use force? What do you think that the US would use force to achieve? Economic assistance would only support the current regime. Do you think that the confiscated business would be in the same shape as when seized? You are getting way ahead of your self. Where are you from?

Wild Bill

Sorry, FKing, we gave all our ready cash to Iran. Four hundred billion dollars in cash, on pallets, flown to Iran. Maybe if Venezuela would send terrorists all around the world, or start up some moslem terrorist training camps, then the US would print up some cash for them.

Francis King

Venezula’s economy is in trouble. Are we supposed to believe that the best and most helpful response is a rant about gun ownership? How about helping out with their economy?

Darren P.

It’s more than a “rant”.about gun control. It shows the deep underlining of socialism in all it failings to actually provide for its citizens. It shows the reality of socialism and how it only gives to those in power, and power is the ones with the guns. So…..taking the power(guns) from the citizens and putting the power(guns) into the hands of the special selected. I usually expect more out of those whom leave comments unless they have alternate agendas……………ie…….Gil

Jim S

How about they take care of their economy. WE have helped but they keep putting idiots in power. They just took GM’s factory in their country.

Mark Are

Why should WE help out with their economy? Why should I have my hard earned labor stolen to give to them? MAYBE YOU SHOULD MOVE DOWN THEIR because that kind of mentality is the basis of communism.

Francis King

A stitch in time saves nine?

Act now when it’s easy, or wait for it to become harder?

Act now to uphold the Monroe Doctrine, or wait for someone else to move in?

I don’t know, why should the USA put itself out?

Wild Bill

@Francis, I don’t know why the USA should put itself out, either. The Monroe Doctrine does not apply. That government could not get any worse if the Russians took over the country. No one else wants it, it would just be a national monetary sink hole for any country that took them over. Maybe all our socialist/communist/liberal could move down there and help out.

Francis King

Maybe if certain European countries helped out Germany in the 20s and 30s, Hitler wouldn’t have got in. Does it tell you something that the Horst Wessel song contains a reference to bread?

Maybe is we’d helped out Russia instead of watching their citizens selling everything they owned in order to buy bread, maybe then we wouldn’t be glaring at them in the Baltic states?

Rattlerjake

If you knew history, you’d know that Hitler didn’t just take power. Germany was doing very poorly economically and Hitler initially was appointed chancellor of Germany in 1933. Hitler helped bring prosperity to Germany with more than 500,000 jobs and the autobahn system, before becoming a dictator and starting WWII. Why do other countries always need to come to a failing country’s aid, they need to learn from their mistakes – but do something about it when the politician gets out of hand – like us preventing Hit-LIAR-y from getting power!

Bill

The economy is only in trouble for the citizens you fool. Do you think the people in charge are not living just fine? Do you really believe that? The people are destitute only because of the greed and corruption of the people in their government. And, why do we have to do something about THEIR economy when they have the largest oil reserves on planet earth?

Francis King

The price of oil has fallen recently. Some oil-based economies are diversified – Venezuela’s is not.

FDR explained best why helping other people is cheaper than looking away.

Tionico

this article gently probes into the reason WHY Venezuela’s economy is in the hopper, chain pulled, and is rapidly swirling down the four inch vertical black pipe. Maduro’s move to disarm the people is one of the key moves he made to push things into the steaming pile of dung we now cannot avoid acknowledging. Three natural, or God-given, rights are named in the article as having been removed from the people by the corrupt tyranny of the government in power. Chavez, Maduro’s sick predecessor, began these removals. Maduro continues with abandon… those three rights are the right to arms,… Read more »

They don’t need help with their economy. They have plenty of oil, gold and silver. But in true socialist fashion they have destroyed the market place. Socialist all over the world have done the same. Just look at Cuba. They were one of, if not the, largest exporters of sugar before Castro. Now they import more sugar than they export. The leaders steal anything of value and ruin it. My wife has a friend from Venezuela. She tried to tell her this was going to happen. But she didn’t believe it could ever happen. Well it has. My Cuban wife… Read more »

POR MÁS QUE INTENTEN EL CONTROL DE ARMAS,NO PODRÁN CON UN PUEBLO QUE YA SE GANO A LAS CALLES,Y DONDE EL FINAL DEL TIRANO MADURO,UN ZURDO COMUNISTA DESPRECIABLE ,ESTÁ YA PRO XIMO.LA FRASE MEMORABLE DE THOMAS JEFFERSON,ESTÁ CADA DÍA MÁS EN LA MENTE DE LOS HOMBRES LIBRES ” EN UN PAÍS SIN LEY LA SUBLEVACIÓN ES UNA OBLIGACIÓN “

Well are we surprised those of us who can remember Hitler,Satlin, or Mussolini what they did . Took away free speech right to assemble and right to own any firearms you have control by Fear mongers ! Now, here in America they want to take away our right to firearms first ownership ? What’s next free speech, then right to assemble !
Called controlling the population!

Francis King

As a matter of historical fact, it was the Wiemar Republic which limited civilian access to guns. They were obliged to under the Versailles Treaty. It was Hitler who eased restrictions on gun ownership. He decreed that if someone was a member of the Nazi Party this was evidence of their good character, and therefore this was sufficient. He also placed restrictions on Jews and political opponents.

Putting Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini is the same context indicates a clear lack of awareness of the marked differences between their political beliefs, and the laws prevalent in their countries.
