SANTA ANA, Calif. -(Ammoland.com)- The National Rifle League (NRL), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and education of precision rifle shooting through a range of outdoors-related public interest activities, announced today that they will be producing a National .22 Rimfire Precision league titled the NRL 22.

The NRL 22 is a division of the National Rifle League created to provide a way for shooters that are looking to get into the sport of precision rifle shooting an opportunity to do so without having to invest a lot of money in gear and travel.

The goal of the NRL 22 is to make Tactical Rifle shooting more available to every community. The league will be designed so that any facility with a 100-yard range can participate in local competitions to qualify for a regional match, and then move on to the National Championship.

“The National Rifle League has been actively listening to all shooters. What we hear is that the shooting community as a whole is captivated by Tactical Precision Rifle shooting but many shooters are hindered by either lack of equipment or lack of ranges capable of accommodating this type of competition,” stated Tyler Frehner, Director of Match Operations, NRL. “We believe that NRL 22 provides the solution to both problems by instituting a format in which most communities and every budget minded shooter can compete with each other every month. Past that, this format is ideal to introduce the next generation of shooters and hunters to the growing sport of Precision Rifle.”

The NRL 22 will provide a local monthly course of fire based off the NRL 22 Standard Target Package and Standard Barricade List. The NRL 22 Standard Target Package will be available for local match directors to purchase on the NRL 22’s web page for an affordable price. The list of standard barricades will be very simple, affordable, and mostly common items.

Monthly courses of fire, target package, and a standard barricades list are all intended to be turn key solutions to simple, fun, and affordable Precision Rifle matches. Local monthly match scores from all participating clubs will be gathered and published from the NRL 22 for a flat fee of $25 per month.

This will allow every club’s participating shooter to compete with every participating shooter in the entire nation every month. The NRL 22 will utilize the local monthly scores to track who qualifies for that area’s Regional Match.

The NRL 22’s Regional and National Championships are scheduled to take place in Spring of 2018. Local monthly matches to qualify for the regional and national championships will take place between September 2017 – February 2018.

About NRL 22:

NRL 22 is an extension of the National Rifle League, with a goal to make Tactical Rifle shooting more available to every community. Through its alliances with match directors it has developed a method to produce better matches with less confusion for superior experience. The NRL 22 understands that the shooting community is fascinated with Precision Rifle shooting, but most localities are not fortunate enough to have a 1000-yard range. However, nearly all localities have access to 100-yard ranges and most shooters own a 22 rifle.
