USA –-(Ammoland.com)- The Herald Tribune reports in Sarasota County, Florida on 07-19-2017, a Pizza Hut employee shot a man who attempted to rob the store Tuesday night.

According to Sarasota County the Sheriff’s Office, two masked men attempted to rob the Pizza Hut at 3251 17th St. at about 11:30 p.m. One of the employees reported that he drew his lawfully carried firearm after one of the robbers pointed a gun at him.

The 22-year-old employee, who said he feared for his life, fired three times at the robber before taking cover. The robbers fled, leaving a firearm and some blood behind.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a gunshot victim being driven to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. A 21 year old from Bradenton was there being treated for a gunshot wound. He was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

The three additional men who were in the car that brought Young to the hospital were arrested.

The three men, the driver age 18, and two other age 20 and 23 are charged with armed robbery. Each admitted to being involved in the crime, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The case remains under investigation.

Comment:

A gutsy Pizza Hut employee, defends the other employees and presumed customers with his legally carried handgun.

The speed of reaction choice was to fire and then seek cover. It sounds as if the would-be robbers fled immediately upon resistance being offered, as usually happens.

A fine job on the part of another armed citizen hero!

Wonder how many of these young men who have been charged with crimes related to this robbery were raised in two parent household or just by mom or dumped on Grandma just like Big Mike? Today there are so many opportunities to get work, get an education at community college or four year universities. Instead these men decide to rob a pizza store, surely they know full well there is no future in crime, just a matter of time before they end up in prison. Perhaps they just do not care, statistics show that most of these young men will… Read more »

As in many cases of young men in this situation we find that they did grow up without the love, discipline and nurturing of a father in their lives. We also find in most cases the fathers are driven away by the demonized family court system and a corrupt and unconstitutional Child Support Enforcement sysrem that has been making sure the father is labeled a non custodial parent and ONLY a visitor rather than an equal parent to their children. But we as men don’t wish to speak of such things openly, so we? To imagine making parents of divorce… Read more »

Will the shooter, legal carriage and use of arms, remain in the employ of Pizza Hut?

Living near the Atlanta area (thank God NOT in the ATL), I decided to perform a little survey recently. I wanted to truly know how “biased” or “jaded” I may have become if at all viewing the same crimes over and over. I mean, what are the true facts minus any emotion. Viewing what is probably the top local TV news station WSB-TV, I witnessed a rather interesting pattern. While viewing the WSB TV News 6pm editions, all occurring within four consecutive seven day time frames. A month of News programing. The 6pm News editions last approximately 42 minutes each… Read more »

@BLG
“why is there no greater outrage and accountability? ”

Simple Answer:
It’s in the Kool Aid

Gregory Romeu

Because other MEN that are in no way associated with the root causes of the downfall of our society and these very circumstances you point out just flat out refuse to get up off their complacent asses and get directly involved publicly to demand accountability for the actions of those in power that create an calls the social engineering most commonly coming through our court systems, I.e., the judges, the prosecutors, the lawyers, the court clerks. As it is said, “If you want to find sinners, go to church. If you want to find criminals, go to the court houses… Read more »

Amen, Gregory.

The problem is that for years people have been trained to accept the “Lesser of two evils” instead of taking responsibility and accountability. That leads to complacency and apathy. Ultimately, it is not they who have a right or moral responsibility to demand accountability from anyone. For those of us who do stand on principle however, it is our Responsibility to demand accountability from the complacent, which is exactly what your comment is calling for whether you intended for it to or not.

Excellent post sir!!

Take out order for hot lead…LOL. Never fear there are more born every day that will chose this path to their fortune. Unfortunately, very few actually achieve wealth from this type of activity. They work harder stealing than they would if they actually got a job. It all comes back to how they have been raised.
The pizza hut employee deserves a raise and promotion.

oldshooter

He may well DESERVE a raise and/or promotion, but unfortunately, unless things have changed in the last couple of years, he is probably going to get terminated instead. That’s Pizza Hut’s corporate policy – as I said, unless it has changed recently.

Businesses can plan on the cost of an employees funeral. Businesses have no idea of what a law suit will cost them if a stray bullet fired by an employee injures an innocent person.
So business forbid and fire employees who carry and defend themselves.

Laws that protect businesses from liability for actions of an employee when the weapon is not provided or required by teh company must be passed.

Ricochet007

If someone is robbing the place, which is a felony, any subsequent death, accidental or otherwise, becomes a felony death and attributable to the perpetrator(s) of the crime. Even if it’s “just a liberal” who had a heart attack at the sight of the employee’s legally carried (and used) gun, the perp is the one legally responsible. Hopefully the legally armed citizen/employee has legal insurance to protect him. Maybe there’s a wide open field for insurance companies to protect businesses who support the 2nd Amendment and cover their employees as well from the civil suits that liberal lawyers inevitably pursue.

And look at these “fine young lads” especially the one with the sh*tlocks on his noggin. Quite the crew of dim bulbs. I wonder if the one clown who got an order of hot lead for take out learned anything?

Rock

Hot lead takeout…. GOOD ONE !!!! All for should have gotten that takeout order in the back of their noggins. They must be getting tired of waiting to hold the delivery drivers up, going straight to the source now.
