MEMPHIS, Tenn. – -( Ducks Unlimited’s newest online film tells a story of strong bonds built in the outdoors. “Heartland Heritage” visits Daniel Lacy and Chris Martin of Kansas City, Missouri.

The two friends, co-workers, hunting partners and DU volunteers share a passion for waterfowling and conservation.

“I love duck hunting,” said Martin. “But I think what I love about it the most is it gives me the opportunity to have that time that our busy lives sometimes try to pull away from us. I really enjoy being able to go down and just spend time with my brother, my Dad, my son and my best friend, and on occasion get to shoot some ducks.”

“The friendships in duck hunting will be forever lasting,” said Lacy. “Chris and I used to hunt together all the time. What we look forward to now is, eight years from now, taking our boys hunting and watching them grow up together and hunt together and figure out their own way of calling. It’s kind of weird—you grow up hunting to shoot ducks, but your priorities change over time.”

DU Films is a unique online film series from Ducks Unlimited, the world leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. Each film features thrilling hunting footage but also tells a story about waterfowl hunters who are passionate about hunting and giving back to the resource. DU Films presents all of this through breathtaking waterfowl footage and intimate conversations with hunters across North America.

The 2017 season includes six films. DU will release one film per month this spring and summer.

DU Films is produced by Rock Road Creative and sponsored by Mossy Oak, Drake Waterfowl, Winchester Repeating Arms, Winchester Ammunition and Yeti.
