USA —-(Ammoland.com)- Dear Gun Control Activists,

Do you know who Carol Bowne is? Since you advocate for more gun control, you absolutely should know who she is.

When you go to sleep at night, her face should be in your dreams.When you pray, if you pray, she should be in your prayers.

You should repeat her name every single time you promote laws that restrict law abiding citizens from having and carrying guns.

Carol Bowne.

Carol Bowne died waiting for the state of New Jersey, specifically her local police department, to allow her to protect herself with a gun.

Had national reciprocity been passed, had shall-issue concealed carry been the law of the land, Carol would still be alive.Carol Bowne died at the hands of her violent ex because you allowed her to. Because you advocate that women like her shouldn’t be allowed to choose how they protect themselves.

I am advocating for choice.Choice. So that women like me are not raped because I am not allowed to carry my gun when getting my education, though I can carry my gun everywhere else I go.

So that women like Carol can protect themselves before it’s too late when the police department is incapable of providing protection.

Make no mistake, Carol Bowne died BECAUSE of you and people like you.

Say her name.

National Reciprocity is a Trojan Horse: “If the central government has the authority to tell a state it must accept permits from all the other states, then it also has the authority to tell a state it may not accept a concealed permit from any other states. If the central government can do these things it can set up a national concealed carry permit scheme and in essence bring into existence a national arms registry. That is exactly where this is headed.” Attorney Richard D. Fry National Reciprocity again is asking for permission to exercise your right, at that point it is no longer a right but a privilege granted by Government. The Federal Government does not have the authority to tell States what to do for very simple reason…the States created the Federal Government via ratification of the Constitution. The Creature cannot be greater than the Creator.

      1. @TC: Baloney. It’s statements just like this that will put us in a situation of NEVER having permits that are recognized in all States. And please don’t start with arguments about Constitutional Carry etc., we’re trying to deal with facts not pie in the sky, “we wish it might happen”.

        National Reciprocity would be very similar to the driver’s license compact between the State’s and there is NO Federal Government involvement in that except to get the States to come together to recognize each other’s driver’s licenses. So if you want Reciprocity stop with the fear mongering. If you NEVER want to see it just keep throwing your unfounded roadblocks up in front of it.

        1. Funny you mention Driver’s Licenses which are the biggest scam on individuals right along with the income tax. The Constitution only allows “government” to regulate commerce, NOT personal travel, which is a right not a privilege! We need more people like these who are willing to put everything on the line to educate the public AND fight the government and their illegal and unconstitutional laws/statutes/regs/codes! And by the way, there is also a fight going to SCOTUS in reference to the illegal and unconstitutional income tax – the 16th amendment was NEVER ratified – government lied to put it in place!

      2. Seems like you don’t know how the Constitution, law or politics function. Since 2010 and the HELLER and McDonald SCOTUS decisions the Federal government has a duty to enforce the Fourteenth Amendment which in part says…
        “… No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States;… and
        Section 5

        The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.”
        A dozen states have adopted Constitutional Carry but a dozens states are rabidly against citizens rights. National Reciprocity is required by the Second and Fourteenth Amendments. Once a few million citizens begin carrying legally in those dozen Democrat states the residents there will discover that more legal guns do mean less crime.

    2. I know this case very well. She was from Berlin NJ. She applied for a NJ firearms ID card after multiple threats and abuse from her boyfriend. A NJ Firearms id card should take 30 days to process. On day 43 Carol was killed. Today in NJ we celebrate a victory the ban on tasers has been lifted. As a plaintiff to lift the ban on tasers and stun guns, i am sad that we could not have done this sooner. The lawmakers in NJ hide behind the justifiable need statute which is a de facto ban on carry of a firearm. So here is my question. Why has Gun Owners of America not filed an brief on the Purpura v Christie SCOTUS Docket No. 17-280
      case?

      1. Gun organizations do NOT want all of the gun laws gone. Their whole bottom line comes from selling insurance to legal gun owners and fighting the “LITTLE” individual battles. They also receive millions in donations to lobby congress. If there were no gun laws why would anyone join the NRA of GOA?

        It will seriously surprise me if Purpura v Christie SCOTUS Docket No. 17-280 is won because the US government and states cannot afford to give up that kind of control and lose all of that illegal revenue. The same reason that the SCOTUS hasn’t even docketed cases proving that the 16th Amendment (Income Tax) is illegal and was NEVER ratified!

        The biggest problem with our system of laws is that a law should have to be proven CONSTITUTIONAL BEFORE it is enacted. Instead, we are saddled with thousands of unconstitutional and illegal laws, codes, statutes, and regulations that MOST citizens are unable to afford to fight – so we go years/decades burdened by these rules and lose money every time we are charged with breaking them.

        1. Nonsense! There are 27,000 gun laws on the books right now in all the US. If a small portion of those laws were enforced we wouldn’t need any more gun laws. My wife and I are Life Members of the NRA and one no one twisted our arms to join. We are also members of most of the other Gun organizations. Every dollar the 5 million members of the NRA spend comes freely as money well spent.

      2. It took 3 months for me to get a permit to purchase a handgun in NJ. Even if she had a gun she still would have been murdered. She was outside and you can’t legally carry in NJ.

      Awareness, enlightenment and a focus on one of the most dreadful occurrences put upon our mothers, sisters and women in our life. May I add that all (male and female) should have whatever means available to defend ourselves against violent attacks. I do pray we never become the “victim” of lawlessness or laws however to “live in peace we must prepare for war”.

      1. I have to disagree . . . the governments know perfectly well that violent criminals will not obey gun laws.

        But since they have their own armed thugs, they don’t care about the rest of us.
