Anti-Gun Extremists Attempting to Derail the Second Amendment Affirmation Act in North Carolina
Anti-Gun Extremists Attempting to Derail the Second Amendment Affirmation Act in North Carolina

Illinois State Rifle AssociationUSA -(Ammoland.com)- Next week, the first Veto Session begins on Tuesday the 24th, and will run until Thursday the 26th. The second Veto Session will begin on November 7th, and end on November 9th.

What is going to happen is anybody’s guess, but with the events in Las Vegas, we are going to see lots of anti-gun bills like HB4107, HB4112, HB4117 and of course, SB1657, the Dealer Licensing bill. There will undoubtedly be more coming.

The anti-gun mob is going to attack every possible way they can think of. The Second Amendment in Illinois is in for a full-scale attack. It is not only in Illinois; it’s in every state and in Congress.

The question is what to do about it. In the short term, you have to contact your State Representatives and State Senators. Next, we have to prepare for the upcoming Spring 2018 Session and beyond. That means you must talk to every gun owner you know and impress upon them the danger we are facing and will be facing.

Also, we need to organize, and organize some more. I can’t stress enough how important it is to join the ISRA. It takes money and organization and it is going to take it for a long time.

The long term is going to take more effort. The first part is really what I have already mentioned. We have to keep up the pressure on our State Representatives and Senators, stay organized and hit the elections as hard as we can. We have to add the education component into the long term strategy. Gun owners have been remiss in educating our friends, family and the general public.

We must invest in the future by taking time to educate them ourselves or by having others who are competent to do it. You notice I said competent. Some people can shoot but they can’t teach.

Once we teach people about firearms they will be able to recognize the endless lines of baloney that the lame stream media broadcasts regarding firearms. In other words, either we teach them or the ant-gun media will.

On October 14, the ISRA held the Illinois State Black Powder Championship at our range in Bonfield, Illinois. We had the largest turnout we have ever had. Thanks to Tom Fahrenbach, Tom Spurlock and all of the great volunteers. The regular Black Powder league is held on the first Sunday of the month, starting at 9 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

You must be one of those “Range Nazis” RSOs I have heard about. Or just plain dumb. Don’t come to an USPSA match and try to tell a left handed shooter his/her right handed ejection port gun must be port up on a stage where the start position is “gun on the barrel/table top and unloaded.” You would be “instructed” rather quickly. Thanks for the laugh.

Photo FAIL!

We RSOs insist that when the firearm is placed on the bench, the ejection port be up and the slide or bolt locked back. Photo editors seem to have their heads up their arses.
