USA –-(Ammoland.com)- The Washington Times and WTVQ TV 36 reported 09-13-2017 in Auxier, Kentucky, a Prestonsburg man was shot to death by his ex-girlfriend after he entered her house early Tuesday morning, according to a preliminary investigation by State Police.

Investigators say 35-year old ex-boyfriend entered the woman’s home in a trailer park just before 7 in the morning in the Auxier community of Floyd County.

State Police say the woman shot the intruder who then fled. Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson says the intruder was found dead in the yard next door.

The victim had placed a warrant for assault for her ex-boyfriend the previous week. Court records show the ex-boyfriend had repeatedly hit and used his knee to strike the woman in the face, resulting in 16 stitches as well as broken bones.

The woman has not been charged. The case will be presented to a grand jury for consideration.

Comments:

In this case, a stray bullet also entered a neighbor’s trailer, but fortunately did not hit anyone.

This is clearly a valid shooting pretty much anywhere except the few anti-gun states where that stray bullet might cause a criminal charge.

The protective order being filed as great credence to the shooter’s self-defense argument.

Well, he was a success at one thing. He achieved the room temperature challenge and it sounds like it couldn’t have been won by a more deserving individual. Congratulations ma’am. I hope you go on to live a happy and peaceful life from this day forward. My sympathies to the officers and first responders who had to clean up the mess and dispose of the garbage.
